Someone here already mentioned how at an advanced age we older guys can't imagine doing this kind of thing with the temps heading towards single digits. I concur. Youth has its advantages. I see JD has had a growth spurt. JD is getting to be a fine looking capable and confident young man. Dal'un you have to have a smile on your face when you see how he's coming into his own, wholesome, with a sponge-like attention to your tutelage and respectful of his pop (even when things go south on a difficult task. Good on you Dal'un for how you respect JD's opinion and how you guide him in the proper and not so proper ways of doing things. Perspective is important. Giving a boy the experience you give JD in the off handed but meaningful way you convey the message is the truest gift of a father. It's good to see how in this way that message has been absorbed. Congrats to you both especially in a time so full of the fragility found in the listless currently young out-of-touch-woke-coasters of this epoch. p.s. Dal'un aren't you going to install the hand made engine puller on the bed of Swanny, or do have it elsewhere (in mind)?
@PoleBarnGarage Жыл бұрын
That was my original plan, however I think the truck deserves a nicer bed than that.

When I first got my license the truck I drove everywhere was a '78 H.D. 3/4 ton Chevy. Wasn't lucky enough for it to be a big block, just a stock 350 but with 4:10 gears it was still a beast, at the gas pump anyway. The next time you get one with the thermostat stuck open in cold weather make a winter front from a cardboard box. It'll make a world of difference in the heat in the cab. Just discovered your channel a couple weeks ago, lovin it. Keep up the good work.

33:06 The classic "swanny" or bush shirt is a heavy, hooded, woollen garment with a lace up section at the neck. Although a wide range of colours and patterns are available, the traditional swanny pattern is a dark tartan which could be described as a 'reverse gingham', with thick criss-crossing stripes of either blue or red over a black base. The item was widely worn by farmers, but in recent years its popularity has spread and it has become something of a fashion item. The Swanndri company also now produces a range of more urban-focussed garments.
