Thought I'd share this, I showed my wife the holey goat 2,000 mile trip video the other night. She thinks the car and what did did with it is cool, but her biggest takeaway was "it's a good thing he loves JD. That boy looks just like him, starting to talk and sound like him, he could never deny that kid. Nice to see a father give a damn about his son." (Her kids father could care less so her kids are basically my kids) hope that brought a good laugh to you, now onto the video lol

When I first got my license the truck I drove everywhere was a '78 H.D. 3/4 ton Chevy. Wasn't lucky enough for it to be a big block, just a stock 350 but with 4:10 gears it was still a beast, at the gas pump anyway. The next time you get one with the thermostat stuck open in cold weather make a winter front from a cardboard box. It'll make a world of difference in the heat in the cab. Just discovered your channel a couple weeks ago, lovin it. Keep up the good work.

Someone here already mentioned how at an advanced age we older guys can't imagine doing this kind of thing with the temps heading towards single digits. I concur. Youth has its advantages. I see JD has had a growth spurt. JD is getting to be a fine looking capable and confident young man. Dal'un you have to have a smile on your face when you see how he's coming into his own, wholesome, with a sponge-like attention to your tutelage and respectful of his pop (even when things go south on a difficult task. Good on you Dal'un for how you respect JD's opinion and how you guide him in the proper and not so proper ways of doing things. Perspective is important. Giving a boy the experience you give JD in the off handed but meaningful way you convey the message is the truest gift of a father. It's good to see how in this way that message has been absorbed. Congrats to you both especially in a time so full of the fragility found in the listless currently young out-of-touch-woke-coasters of this epoch. p.s. Dal'un aren't you going to install the hand made engine puller on the bed of Swanny, or do have it elsewhere (in mind)?
@PoleBarnGarage

That was my original plan, however I think the truck deserves a nicer bed than that.

Farm truck? Compared to the one I drove for 8 years, that’s a show truck. A trailer queen. A radio AND a window roller-upper-arm AND cab mounts made of steel and rubber? (Not a 2x4…) that’s luxury right there. 1979 K10, 350.

After 21 years in the ARMY I retired in Texas for obvious reasons. Taxes & weather. Anyway I put a 454 in a K5 Blazer my god it was a beast! Wish I still had it..I'd put a Holley sniper kit on it and terrorize the off road trails.

The new farm truck is real nice, it honestly reminds me of the times I have gone to a junkyard to get parts for my project and found a vehicle thats nicer in almost every single way than what I actually own. I might say to patch the floors with a panel from that blue van and put some used tires on it but other than that, it is real nice. Also I hope you get caught up on work because I am sucker for mustangs and that 70' looks like an awesome time, maybe wait till it warms up a bit though.
