The open the hood, WOW, factor is worth it. I hadn't driven the car with the stock system. It was in a barn for twenty years. The sound is great. Did you have to use heat shield in the engine compartment. Any issues with heat?

No heat shield, two years later, no issues

Where did you get the exhaust system from I know the headers are Vick’s Rest of the exhaust from them as well?

The whole system is from Vicks. Sometimes it's easier to get the whole thing from the same place for fitment purposes. The only thing I had to supply was the nuts and bolts for the down pipe, [2]x 6mm, the flange, [4]x 8mm and the two 2.5 inch band clamps. I used some left over socket cap bolts from my previous order, but they were a PIA to get tight. Just use regular bolts.

Excellent video my friend. My stainless exh sys just arrived, however I'm not exactly sold on that allen key clamp welded to the downpipe, I've been told that some people experience a small exhaust leak from that connection and ended up removing the allen key clamps and replaced them with the band clamps and voila! no more leaks, have you heard about doing something of this nature? Thanks in advance.

Cutting off the tabs and band clamps is the way to go.

I would use a cut-off wheel, then smooth it out with a grinder wheel, then 80 and 120 flapper wheels

How are you plugging off the extra exhaust port for the EGR system?

The front passage in the head only goes from exhaust side to intake side. Since it's open on both sides it does not channel anything. I will build some plates to cover the holes. The ports on the top of the head have been plugged.

@@troylewis9552 The down tube are 13mm but rusty prepare for broken studs. I cut the rest of it off because it was not being used. I highly recommend the stainless system from Vickauto.com
