Awesome...what a difference in the way it looked and ran when it left here some months back. You did a great job.

I have been shopping for one of these on Craigslist.Im riding a CB900 custom and I want a small little bike to scoot around on and agravate all the badasses around here.I hear that the kz650 can bring as much as 140mph if you tinker with it a little.I like the way you say "I love it"thanx for posting this vid your bike is really great and you did a good job bringing it up to a high standard.God Bless and have a nice day.

Diggin the C. I've got a red '77 C1. They are great bikes.

Exception, I'm almost about to hit 23k miles. Is your bike idling high? I just ordered a bearing kit for a KZ650B3 which isn't fully compatible with my 78' C2. I didn't know it was a C2 until this morning when I matched the VIN numbers. Gah, now I have to order another bearing and a seal.

I think the stock setup for the B model without the accelerator pump is 102.5 mains, 15.0 pilots, needle clip in the center. Then just balance it with a vacuum balancer. And adjust the idle air screws for 1,000 rpm. Does that sound right to you? I think you're right about the backfiring being caused by the carbs.

Me likey! The sound is more "refined" than I thought it would be. Is it pretty fast then?

Wow that's rad! Are you going to sell it? How much would that guy go for?

You can find that warning light cover at Z1 Enterprises as an aftermarket item - looks and fits identical to the factory piece you can no longer buy. That running issue could be intake leaks or some ignition issue.

backfiring when its coming down is from out of adjustment valves or the carbs being not tuned.

Those minor styling differences are a real pain in the butt. The bike may be idling high. I'm not exactly sure what spec is for it. My petcock is doing the same thing. I disassembled it and tried to seal it better but to no avail. I believe a new O-ring would do it, it's cheaper than a new petcock

So yeah, I got my bike running after replacing the old petcock. The problem that had occurred was that I had the vacuum hose and the fuel line reversed.

Yeah it's a pretty refined sound. Not like the twins. Totally different power feel than twins too. Not really sure what it's worth these days. I guess we'll find out

Mine has around 24k on it. I need to change my petcock. It's ruining my bike. >=[
