Was searching footage of this camera out of curiousity from looking at fb marketplace. It's seems like such a gamble with all the untested ones in the market. And you put this camera to its maximum potential with how sharp the picture is.

@@finnbenischek3170I have 2 Newvicon GE cameras. Both of them were busted when I bought them. Got them for $40 and $60. I got the second one because I actually was buying the power bank that came with it and the guy threw in the camera for free. I’ve been looking into either fixing them up or finding one that definitely works

Pena que ainda não existe nenhum App que emule esse efeito com perfeição, apenas tentativas. Só de pensar como algo que era tão chato de ver acontecer com as luzes na TV dos anos 70 e 80 hoje daria saudade e seria objeto de desejo ter uma câmera dessas. Aqui no Brasil vc não encontra nenhuma camcorder de tubo funcionando. A mais popular era a Panasonic Newvicon. Caso encontre uma funcional vou comprar e fazer vídeos no meu canal.

Additionally don't shine too bright lights into the camera as you can ruin the tubes i.e. don't point the camera at the sun

Yes thanks for the advice. Is the phone light like the one I use in the video okay? I see on the back of the camera it says don’t point at the sun. I am wondering about more standard lights such as car headlights or tungsten bulbs.

What is the performance in normal lighting indoors? I own a JVC s-100 single tube camera and the indoor performance is lacking I don't know If I need to adjust something inside or if it is the way it is. My JVC BY-110 3 tube is far better.

The performance is okay. For this video I had the sensors sensitivity set to low, so most of the lights I used were quite bright and close to my face. The picture looks much better when the “gain” or sensitivity is set to low in my opinion. I will probably upload a couple more tests that will show more footage in standard lighting.

can the RCA output go directly to computer via HDMI as well?

I bet you could get that to work yes. I’ve tested with 3 different monitors and I got the signal. One thing to note is that the RCA output is on the AC power adapter, and not the camera itself. The AC adapter is called an HVA-200. It only has an RCA video cord and not audio cords.

I powered it using a small power box called a Sony HVA-200 Power AC Adaptor, it plugs into the camera directly, and that plugs into the wall. The power box also strangely has a video out, which is how I was able to record the picture.

@@lengthoftheeye hypothetically no it cannot, I still haven’t even been able to test it outdoors. In theory if you had a smallish portable AC power battery you could keep it in a backpack, but it would be a pretty crazy setup. I believe there are better ways to power it portably but I never discovered them.
