Hi Brook, I wonder if setting the bike on the elevator stand by the oil pan surface could damage it someway? Could you explain the best way to do it? I enjoy watching all your videos trying to learn every day, thanks.

Hi Alexis, I always place a board wider than the oil pan under the oil pan to distribute the force evenly. I've never had a problem with damage to the pan. I'm glad to hear you enjoy watching the videos. I include a link in the description of every video to detailed documentation about how I do the work that is posted on my web site. The videos are just a summary of the work. The written documentation often includes important points, tips and mistakes I make that can be very helpful.

Nice! Did you put any anti-seize on the large aluminium exhaust flange nut?
@BrooksAirheadGarage4 жыл бұрын
Peter, Indeed I do and I point that out in the video at about 3:45 and in the written documentation. I use the grey color with nickle NOT the copper color anti-seize.

@@assessor1276 Not to worry. Some times I think I did something and it turns out I didn't :-0

@@BrooksAirheadGarage Sorry, could you explain the difference between grey nickel and copper anti-seize use? I am considering to put a BRASS eyehole bolt in the gearbox...should I care about galling? Thanks and regards
