You can take that faulty coil off and take it to a motor rewind shop and get them to rewind the coil, they will cut the old copper from the bobbin, clean up the bobbin and make sure the ground insulation is sound. You will need to tell them the resistance of the OEM coil ( 283 ohms in this coil) they will measure the wire from the old coil, it's very fine wire, 0.2mm or smaller. Myself I will wind on the turns till I reach a fill that's similar to original then, I carefully measure the resistance to gauge how many more or less turns are needed, this can be done without cutting the fine enamel winding wire if you use a Stanley blade and hold the multimeter lead on it, and very carefully apply pressure on the copper winding wire. 34 yrs in the rewinding trade so I've mastered this trick without damaging wire. Finished coil gets cured in electrical varnish and baked off.

How much would you charge me to rewind mine? I have the same exact make and model 1984
@alanwalker7342 Жыл бұрын
@@mastersonbat8633 I'm in New Zealand mate, the freight would cost more than a second hand coil. But if u were in nz I could sort it easily enough.

Are those the original tires on your trike?
@hendersonequipment3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I changed them once in the late 90s. They are dry rotting again and I need to replace them. Any suggestions for trike tires?
