Same here. Just hearing Madden and Summerall brings back so many great memories from my youth. I couldn't wait all week for the weekend to arrive. Playing football all day Saturday and Sunday morning, until Giants kickoff. Watching the game, and then going back out to play again until sundown. Repeat the same next weekend until the Super Bowl.

Got a lot of Giant games when I was a kid in Montreal so became a fan. That defense with Taylor, Banks, Marshall, Burt, etc...was really something. On Christmas vacation in Hawaii I remember watching this game in the condo lobby at 7 AM before heading to the beach. 👍

Oh man,the New York Giants games back in the day were some great ones!! I was born and raised in Connecticut,just 60 miles from the meadowlands in Jersey.. Phil Simms and company played some GREAT GAMES

That little slant pass Rice caught on the first drive was a major achillies heel of this defense. Guys like Rice, Roy Green from the Cardinals, etc would break one off for a long gain pretty regularly. When Rice fumbled it was fate: the worst had happened and it still turned out good.

That game was over at 6:20. That fumble was so out of character of Jerry Rice that he went the next year and got the single season touchdown record until Randy Moss broke it. 1987 until he retired is the hall of famer of the Jerry Rice we know know. This was just the Giants day and they crushed the 49ers so bad that it was the worst defeat for Joe Montana's career.

Also, the Giants should bring back these absolutely beautiful, SHINY, midnight blue helmets with that dark red stripe. Their helmets now are so dull and boring. I also wish my Dolphins would go back to the Jimmy Johnson era logo on their helmets. I'm getting used to the current one now because we're winning and exciting, but the 97-2013 logo was the best! Seems like all the teams in the 80s and 90s had better looking uniforms than today, especially the Patriots, who wore their old red jerseys last night against Miami. They were so pretty. The old logo was so much nicer too!

I am still a 49ers fan. That was not a happy game to watch in my opinion. That game did display the future talents of Bill Belichick who would coach the New England Patriots to six Super Bowl titles from 2002 to 2019. I have to admit that Super Bowl XXIV was so lop sided, that I became a John Elway fan after that blow out. I was so happy for John Elway when he won in his last two years as a pro football player. I also have to admit that I wish that Dan Marino had won at least one Super Bowl. Sadly, he never went back to any Super Bowl after Super Bowl XIX, which was highly unusual. How many times does the President participate by doing the official coin toss to begin the game? How many times does a team get to win so close to their own hometown? The SF 49ers have had five wonderful Super Bowl titles.

Not a stat to be particularly fond of. The 49ers knocked out a few as well but not just that year but career ending. Jim Plunkett comes to mind, who was also a ex-Niner, and not to forget the horrendous injury by LT on Joe Theismann.
