I will never forget this game. I was on the field. Helping KJRH as an intern. You can see me in my green parka just yards away from Jackson as he made the game-winning catch! I was lucky enough to go to the Sooner locker room after the game. The main thing I remember is all of the Nebraska fans spitting at us as we walked to the locker Room.

OU’s Keith Jackson was a beast. He won that game for OU. Was it the yr before where he had the 88 yard TE reverse? He had a great pro career too with GB. Just an amazing athlete with size/speed/hands. I’ve been watching a ton of OU/Neb games on KZbin lately. I’m 56, and I grew up in 70’s and 80’s so Thanksgiving Fri was always a big day back then for me. I really dislike Texas and OSU, but always respected Nebraska back then. Just a shame that things aren’t like that anymore for our two programs.I wish we’d just kept the Big8 and let the Southwest Conference fend for themselves. We could have added some other teams along the way. I think Nebraska, Okla, and a KState or Colo or Mizz every now and then would’ve made for a plenty tough league. Even OSU was formidable. I wish Texas would’ve went independent back then.

As a Nebraska fan, I can say OU didn't have any NFL caliber wide receivers in the 1980s, but they didn't need any, they had Keith Jackson

Poor Keith. How many times did he call games where Osborne or games where Bo Schembechler lost. Both I'm guessing were two of his favorites. Has to be an anchor record. Is it me, or does the game look like they are playing it during a partial eclipse.

There's a story behind that play. In the papers leading up to the game, Holieway said that Noonan would not touch him all day. So after Noonan tackled him on that play, he "touched" Holieway on the head. Noonan certainly was a beast. He was first team All-America and should have won the Outland that year.
