I miss this era, when the screen wasn't cluttered with graphics.

All true football fans do. The contemporary NFL is a pathetic joke.

Just wish they had the score, quarter and time remaining, I watch these with the sound of most of the time.

Went to this game with my brother and friends. Recieved a full beer down my back late in the game for my Redskins enthusiasm. Played Hail to the Redskins in the parking garage on 6x9's on the way out. I miss St. Louis being a football town and in the NFC East. (New ownership, back to the old name) Go Skins!!!

the st louis cardinals were a very classy team and a huge part of the nfc east landscape. the league was never the same after they moved to phoenix , despite increased revenue and attendance. u could feel the change and even as a young fan i could pick up the league was modernizing. its ashamed when they got a team and started winning in 99 they couldnt do so in the old unis and helmets. the oldest team in the league. going to marios pizza and listening to redskins cardinals ..

Ray Brown as a Rookie playing for The Cardinals. Great game to watch.

And there's a game of him playing for the Redskins in 2005 that I watched again on KZbin just yesterday
@johnliberty3647 Жыл бұрын
@@NeoNero83 Yep, he had a long career with 2 different periods of time with The Redskins. The last hog, although its debatable if he counted as a hog as he didn't really play much during the Redskins super bowl years
@NeoNero83 Жыл бұрын
@@johnliberty3647 hey may not have been a Hog, per se, but he played like a Hog. He carried that spirit with him long after the days of Bostic, Grimm, and Jacoby were gone.
@johnliberty3647 Жыл бұрын
@@NeoNero83 I have no problem calling him a hog, he was on the roster during the superbowl years and he did turn out to be a pro bowl caliber player with either the 49ers or Lions (forgot which if not both) in the late 1990's. He came back to be in the next generation of Gibbs O Linemen too beyond age 40. I believe he retired after 2005, maybe 2006. Consider that the oldest hog was George Starke who started playing 1973, and Ray Brown ended his career in 2005 we had 32 years of hogs in the NFL.

I was at this game. The Cards played tough. As a senior in highschool I couldn't see the Cards leaving, even with the reduced attendance.Bidwill was losing money, something he wouldn't stand for.

It just a sad sight to see that no one cared about the Cardinals except for the baseball team. Hell even the next year the baseball team made to the World Series and the football team was ONE win away from making the playoffs as a wildcard and yet no one showed up for the football team. For the Redskins people forget this was a great team. Their only 2 losses in the regular season was against the Giants who was rolling on defense with LT and the offense late in the season found their groove.
@gerrypeet4861 Жыл бұрын
The Skins lost 4 games actually but they were the second best team in the NFL that year. Got swept by the Giants in three games. The Giants were the better team that year. They beat an overrated Bears team in the playoffs too.
@bryanw91178 Жыл бұрын
A lot of people didn’t show up in St.Louis because Bill Bidwill had announced by mid season in ‘87 that they were moving. Not to mention that was a strike season so 4 games were played with replacement players

This was 38 years ago, but that still doesn’t excuse the surface that they’re playing on that at Bush Stadium had to be the worst turf to play on besides the vet in Philly. I can’t believe the NFL let that go there’s been so many great players that had their careers cut short from surfaces like that all over the league I am so glad that Washington was always on natural grass
