I like these old cars. They're comfortable and reliable. They're also roomy. Cars nowadays are cramped and it's like sitting on a park bench.

Contrary to what one viewer said below-- I absolutely love and adore the taillights on these 88-91 generation of CV's. They were trapezoidal, and unique, looked like cat's ears and stuck out as really stylish on a large American car. The pre 1988 taillights were kind of plain and straight rectangular, plus the whole trunk-deck lid sloped down not making the tails all that interesting on those cars. But that's just my opinion. To each their own. All LTD/Vics are good in my opinion. Better than the midget LTD's that came out in 1983 and bore the LTD name by itself. Those were hideous beyond belief, and a shrimpy embarrassment to the great LTD name.

B3burner dude the tail lights are my favorite part about these Crown Vic's. 88-91 is my favorite era of these and all my friends think I'm nuts. I want a black police interceptor with a push bar and black wheels with the police center caps. That would be so sick.

These were very nice & unique as I agree with both of you.

Now that's how a ford sounds, I love that V8 sound on those Crown Victoria's Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Cars.
@doug90665 жыл бұрын
I'll always remember this sound when starting, Ford cars now days don't have this distinctive sound anymore I don't think, even my 2006 Lincoln Town Car doesn't quite have this sound as those in the 80's.

What models had that wing-window looking thing right behind the A-pillar? I've scoured the internet looking at the dealer brochure picture websites, and all of them show the 1988-91 Crown Vics *WITHOUT* that wing-window. So what exactly was the determining factor? And while we're at it what are the key differences between 88, 89, 90, & 91? This is my favorite generation of Crown Victoria, but I'll be damned if I can tell them apart to any great extent. Was there any great variance between the years in style, or body trim? Was the length or width varied between those years? If it was, I would want the longest, widest, and lowest one-- but I don't know if there was a difference. And finally, what was the difference between the standard Crown, the Crown LX, and the Crown S? Sorry for all the damn questions, but I'm trying to better understand an underrated car that totally impresses the hell out of me.
