@@cullyx2913 A statement from FloJo and her husband, Al Joyner: “I know exactly what people say about me,” he said. "And that's just not true." I don't need to use drugs. If they want, they can come for testing every week of the year. I have nothing to hide." Her husband says all the talk boils down to jealousy. He said his wife's astonishing gains are the result of being "trained as a man." He added: “We bought a $150 leg exerciser and he did leg rolls every night. Over 20 pounds every night to add strength to your legs. He worked 12 hours a day.” Only those who have nothing to hide say so. Do 12 hours of leg training a day for months and you'll set the world record "Florence Griffith-Joyner, Tellez and Bob Kersee denied the allegations, but Florence Griffith-Joyner did not pursue legal action. The accuser questioned Robinson's motives, as she received $50,000 for an interview with Stern and $10,000 for an appearance on NBC's Today show . to discuss the matter." Darell Robinson was a frustrated personality with a hint of jealousy, a slight desire for revenge, because he himself could not succeed. Materiality played an additional role in his motivation. He is a completely untrustworthy person with empty words and zero evidence. FloJo's death was caused by an epileptic seizure due to a congenital brain disorder, sadly drowned RIP❤ 😭

Flo Jo strides are insane. Her strides changes at about 50 miter or so where she extends her legs and powers through. She was ahead of her time. Love watching her.
She would run 10.35 with today tehnology and nutrition! People only talk about steroids and dont see her perfect tehnique! So all of these today top sprinters could have any chance!
@shanesanders4730 Жыл бұрын
Right...I've noticed this also! Her stride actually does change somewhere around that area, where she gives a little tiny bit more knee lift, and she's kicking her toes out, as well as reaching her arms very far forward to match the legs. This leg action looks like something that will cause most folks to pull a hamstring, because it heavily relies upon the hamstring to pull her forward. There is so much to this technique I'm thinking I truly don't believe she was doping...her mechanics and plan of execution are so advanced, drugs simply cannot create this situation on their own. With the shoes and track surfaces we have today, especially with a drive phase, this woman would be running 10.3 today.

It's frightening though,the fact that some Americans would call into question these times that our Jamaican Athletes have been producing in recent years,even though Athletes today have to go through far more rigorous testing than back in those days..probably we'd be surprised if these types of testing were available back then..a mean,just look at Marion Jones for example...#justsaying
@websurfer10002 жыл бұрын
@@dwaynegraham7210 dude you are going to get that whenever records are broken. This year there were way more records broken in track vs 88. Some were very old WR's, OR's, many Personal Bests. It's going to be....doping for sure, the super fast tracks, the super spikes, athletes today can go pro right out of high school so they can train all the time vs work due to being sponsored and paid,. the coaching is better, the meets designed for WR's with the rabbits and the new pacing lights.. endless. Elaine T-H has the best shot at breaking these WR's and I would love it. Just because she breaks FloJo's records doesn't alter FloJo's legendary status. I was there in 88 watching it all happen in real time. FloJo transcended track and brought excitement to the womens side with her high fashion, looks, wild sexy outfits, the hair, the full body suits with the cap, the smile and joy while running... She captured the worlds attention just like Bolt did for the same reason...the IT factor besides the WR's. We just had the games..did anyone capture the worlds attention (not just track fans) like Bolt did for so many years or FloJo in 88. Think not. They transcended the track world to elevate the excitement which pulled people in. FloJo was an even bigger cultural phenom then she was on the track. I think the track world has wasted bolt after he retired. The sport needed him as an ambassador. FloJo predated Jones but I remember after her insane WR at the trials all eyes, doctors, testers, skeptics...were on her like clue. She was tested and re-tested then it got even worse after the games because of Ben Johnson. There was more testing. She was later tested during the autopsy after her career and life were long over. how about innocent until proven guilty but now it is everyone is guilty no matter the testing.

Wasnt it Katt William's that made the joke about how the athletes keep getting bigger and stronger and faster the older they get and no one even cares to realize that's not how it works? Theres this interview with Usain Bolt and the reporter is asking him about the very suspicious times the Jamaican track team did and he got soo mad at her for asking but then again didnt come straight out and deny they were doing PEDs either. Lol who is that cyclist Hamilton something that came out with how the US team doctor walked around with a fisherman's vest on (you know the vests with about 50 different little pockets) and all the pockets had a different PED in them and everyone on the team was using and everyone on the foreign teams were using. Lance Armstrong slammed him as a liar and then about a year later cane out with the truth that he'd been using along with everyone else that cycles professionally. Hamilton said the PED use was so widespread that he doesn't think anyone could be natural and still compete at that level. What do you think of Michael Phelps? You think hes ever used because he came out pretty hard against it and said, if you've ever been caught doping even once you should never be able to compete again.

Even given the widespread assumption that the whole field was doped up - making it an "equal" playing field - she still had the best technique which is why she won; her ability to maximize the efficiency of her front-end mechanics is why she increased the gap at the end. Sha'carri Richardson best demonstrates how effective the "flo-jo technique" is towards the end of the race. Elaine Thompson as well. @@camboriuense10 What evidence do you have that she took PEDs? She certainly spent two years working very hard to increase the muscle mass of her legs and her rather sloppy running mechanics. She was always naturally fast, and I suspect because of that I dont think it ever dawned on her coaches that she could become much faster. Compare her form in 1988 to 1984. It's like your looking at two different athletes. One is erratic and out of control, the other is graceful and in total control. She appeared to be slogging in 84. Agreed. Her technique was amazing, particularly how she kept her knees close together, and had extremely supple hips. Fabulous. Do you think Shelley-Ann Fraser Pryce will get close to her record/a?

@@nathanwilliams2152 NOPE. FLOJO is the G.O.A.T.

First, the muscle mass that FloJo had was relatively new and reflected a new way female athletes would be trained, weights, strength and conditioning etc. The look is fairly standard now as anyone having just watched the Tokyo Olympic Games would have noticed. This was also around the time that Matina Navratilova had joined up with Nancy Lieberman who transformed the tennis great from a pudgy teenager to the fit and strong women who played well into her 40s and forced Chrissy Everett to become acquainted with weight training. Both women were more cut in their 40s than they had been in their 20s. Steffi would permanently solidify the female tennis player as an athlete. And when was Steffi at her peak? 1988. A sea-change was occurring in what it meant to be a female athlete and that to be world class women should train as men do, which meant building strength, explosiveness and quick twitch reflexes with lean muscle mass. Flo Jo's physique is the norm among elite track stars of today. She just happened to be trained by Al Joyner who was ahead of his time. Flo Jo wasn't out there looking like a female Ben Johnson. Her eyes weren't popping out of her head, the veins in her neck weren't bulging out of her skin, and he head wasn't ballooning. Her lean muscle mass was by today's norms proportionate, and she retained her striking femininity. And just watching her run, it wasn't muscles that made her an absolute standout. It was her long, fluid stride, She was like Carl Lewis and Usain Bolt in that she just moved differently than than the rest of us.

Yaaaawn...yes her jawline stiffened...and her legs were those made by steroids...so you can write all the purple prose you want...but it doesn't change the fact that in sprint history, no man or woman has ever increased their time by 3 metres....not even close....and they never will....grow up buddy.

@@kevinherbert4256 I keep hearing about how her style of running and her training etc is what finally got her where she was...well the fastest woman ever out of thin air. Buuut it seems that all died with her. Guys, it was juice. The thing about racing is the athletes get faster and faster every year. This ain't a sport where a record can remain, these records are meant to be broken because the tech increases. No one is improving their time like she did, not at that amount or anywhere near it. A recent Jamaican runner came pretty close but the Jamaicans are suspicious as hell. They take very few urine tests. If you believe she's clean then you believe the East Germans just had some talented athletes back in the day and have now run out. They were doped and so were many others. Ashford had consistent times and improvements but sadly all these people know about is the chick who one really was suddenly the best ever...then immediately retired. She dressed cool and was the fastest and that's all they care about. Plenty of people have spoken out about Flo-Jo.
