I continue the restoration of my 1989 Yamaha FZR250R classic motorcycle. Rims are back from paint and we assemble the brake calipers and prepare the master cylinders for restoration.

Thanks, really appreciate that. I'm looking forward to the fairings arriving and being painted, I think my choice of color and design will make it really pop.

Amazing job so far! Especially considering this is the first time you've done this. I've just managed to get the engine into the new frame so far on my project but with far less resources and attention to detail.

Thanks, I have a bit of an overall plan and rebuild sequence but pretty much just focus on the particular individual part I'm needing done, I wasnt going to paint the bolt heads originally but I think it needed it with everything in those areas being so clean. I think it would have bothered me if I left them. I have definitely gone over the top for setting up my first work space, I'm hoping to do a few motorcycles so hopefully it is worth the investment. I think a collection of 1989 250cc inline 4s from Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki would be a bit different and interesting to see how they did things differently in thier competing market.

Hey man, I love the build so far. I think the screws on an old Honda are JIS (Japanese Industry Standard) and if you are using a Phillips head screwdriver that may be why the screws are being damaged easily. I hope this helps. By the way, I am really jealous of what you are doing.

I actually haven't come across many if any phillips or jis head screws (2 total from memory) most are hex head. The only ones I had an issue with were 2 on the master cylinder which were very corroded on this bike, the doner bike was good as. I was all prepared for JIS to be the main fixing but it's honestly 99% hex heads. More videos are on the way soon, fairings are here but life got very busy for a short time.

@@LindseyExplores I kinda thought you would have been all over it, keep up the great work. BTW, the blue XSR900 is my dream bike, set to purchase at the end of the year.
