Great tip on shimming the door handle buffers there, although those on my '92 Vogue are still working OK and not too bad alignment wise, so I'll leave well alone until I have better reason to strip them down - I don't look for trouble! Having said that, the central locking on the left hand rear door is a bit lazy after its been standing overnight or longer, a couple of lock and unlocks and it's back in step with the rest though, but first time unlock and lock it's like Lance Corporal Jones from Dad's Army standing to attention! It gives the car character though!

Check the seal for the roof panel is fitted - my 95 would sometimes get a thin run of water run down the inside of the windscreen in heavy rain, and when the roof was removed for the full restoration, they found the seal had never been fitted, and nor had half the roof bolts.

ah, going through this at the moment with another customer. the seal between roof and body frame was a flexible dun dum type seal. Alas if used the wrong side of the fixing screws then water will enter the cabin through the screw holes to the bopdy frame, email me if you need more info

@ not a problem for me - the car is going through a very expensive full restoration to far better than factory condition, but they found no trace of any seal or sealant.

on the door handle? outer handle connects to the door catch mechanism via a rod with an adjustable length. You almost certainly will improve things by removing the door card, lubricating the thread and adjusting it, drop me an email if you need help

Those sopping wet front footwell sound proofings are a bit depressing. I just took mine out. Weighing in at about 10lb each! I might have a go at my door handles some time now I've seen this. Ta.
