Be careful with the olive.when they changed from imperial to metric sized olives some were slightly larger than their imperial equivalent. Found that out when working on a 3 way heating valve which was one size and the olive was a gnats knacker larger. Tightened it up ,opened the isolating valves and the pipe blew out. This was all happening in a office and i was up a pair of steps working in the ceiling. So their i was holding this pipe in the valve and no chance of reaching the isolation valves. Had to get an office worker to climb up on desk,pop out a tile and shut the valves. That was an interesting afternoon 😂

Could the 6mm to 8mm pipe be BMC standards from fuel tank meeting Triumph standards at engine? Putting the (slightly) later Spitfire engine in the Midget in 1974 was rather like giving a 100-year old patient a heart transplant from 90-year old donor.
