Fast forward two decades, and he's turning down $10k by playing a 146 break instead of a 147. If you ask about Ronnie's 147, he'd say which one? If you ask about his 146, there's only the one.

@@Gameboygenius The 2nd 146 against Ding was mostly due to the fact he was out of position on the black, rather than sending a message. However, there is one 147 where ronnie was refusing to pot the last black but eventually gave in and sunk it. You could tell then that he didnt think it was worth it. Frankly, 146 is still a spectacle and if he wants to score 146, so be it. Barry Hearn can whine all he wants.

It shows here that he's always been at his most comfortable and focused playing at a fast pace. Throughout his career, you can see he struggles a bit playing against slow players. Some players knew this and exploited it. Today's players like Slow Poke Selby and many others use it against him to frustrate him and disrupt his Rythym and focus. When Ronnie looks tired or frustrated, due to being kept off the table, he can sometimes take a long time to recover or does not.
