Can I use 200 4r transmission instead of the 700r4 ??

Great video and we clearly have the same taste in cars. I have a 1981 Olds 98 Diesel, I too had a 95 Crown Vic, many Town Cars. I love the 93-96 Fleet wood Broughams and the Roadmasters. I also love the old Mercedes, especially the Diesels. Keep us updated on the Brougham.

The original and two replacement transmissions all slip? Could it be a malfunctioning torque converter? How about a bad PCM computer? I really have a hard time believing 3 transmissions all have the same problem. (two of which are rebuilt).

Try Lucas Transmission Fix bottle. It will renew slipping transmissions.

I remember back in high school a friend of mine, a 16 year old girl, inherited a maroon 1992 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. This was in 1996 and the car had 11,000 miles. Well we all know what happened, she totaled the Cadillac and they only had liability insurance. She "hydroplaned" and ran the car off into a ditch and collapsed the front suspension. After the Cadillac, she got a Dodge Shadow and of course totaled it as well.

1997-1992 Broughams were not Fleetwoods. During these years Fleetwoods were based on the FWD DeVille.

I know we had an 89 Ford Taurus and the dealer told us when the overdrive transmission first came out that on the street you were supposed to drive them in regular drive which is the 3rd gear on most cars and then when you get up to the freeway speeds or you know 55 and above you would shift into overdrive because they were having problems with the transmission going out because people were driving them in overdrive on the street and they were shifting too much so we always used to just drive in 3rd gear! we would use overdrive only above 55 and it seemed to keep the transmission from wearing out so fast.

I'm looking for a Brougham similar to yours, but one with a bad engine. Lots of the 5.0 L engines saw early deaths. I'm planning to drop a 6.2 early 80's GM Diesel in it. I'm also planning to place a key pad module into the driver's door to have the keypad entry system like a Town Car.
