I also can't believe (but am stoked) that you keep finding footage to upload. I lived in Tokyo during 91-92 (I was working as an English teacher), so these videos are incredibly evocative. I love the Mercedes 500SL parked incongruously in that grotty corner on Shinjuku. It would have been pretty new at the time - and they were incredibly expensive. No wonder the passer-by was gawping at it!

Thanks for the feedback! I was into photography before coming to Tokyo and then have kept at it since arriving. I really wish I had had a video camera in 1984 when I first came (when the exchange rate was Y245/$1). A lot of things suddenly changed in 1985. I suppose that's one reason I was so intent on recording as much as I could in 1990-93... I could see the Showa Era things disappearing at a rapid pace and really wanted to record things before they were gone.
Very interesting to see that chaotic atmosphere back in 1991, so surprised that many things captured in the footage look like as if they were left since 1940s.
