I've got a 93 F150 XLT with the 5.0L V8, it was my grandfather's truck until he passed, only has about 58,000 on it. He was a mechanic so he kept it in great shape too.

5.0 was around since 1990 so technically the modern 5.0 isn’t new. They just brought it back like the old days but better actually.

Some engines it hurts, others are made to take it. On a nice and expensive engine like this, I wouldn't do it, but many can take it even when bone cold (generators for example) and instantly up to full rev.

But it didn't have that weird trim or bed cover so it looked more straight cut and nice in my opinion, like a razor. Had the dark colored sun visor above the drivers window and a dark deflector on the front too. I miss it a lot and how it looked, I'd kill to have the same one myself.

My dad bought a 1993 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 new in 93 and he loved the engine in that car as it would move really well for only having like 225 hp. However, when he wondered why he was replacing tires on it really often, he found out that it wasn't all of the burnouts he did, but they had bent the frame pulling the car off of the truck at the dealer. :( So he went and bought a Mazda RX-7 instead. lol

I trust this car with my life. Its like a tank. I was in a crash while riding in this car with my brother and dad. So the light turned green we started driving and a car came out of no where and hit us (we were at an intersection). we got out and looked at the other car the whole drivers side was caved in and the door fell off and everyone was okay thankfully. Then we looked at the truck and it didn't even have a scratch on it. We laugh about it every now and then.
