This probably wasn't the absolute best source out there, but it worked pretty well I think. Were a lot of compression artifacts in the original picture and I used Topaz to clean these up and also sharpen and upscale things. I used Resolve to brighten a pretty dark picture and to correct a green hue that was present. My thanks to Craig Stevens for providing the DVD files used for this project

This was the pinnacle of my Niners fandom Because without checking any of the other comments on here I’m going to assume that most people agree that this WAS the 1994 Super Bowl Excellent job Dave, as usual I started collecting games seriously 5 years ago but this game & maybe about 5 others from 30-35 years ago remain on my shelf as my original VCR copies. lol. It will be difficult to go back to my original copy ever again after seeing the work done here !

What a classic football game. As much as I didn’t like San Fran beating my Cowboys, I was really proud of their performance in this game. Down 21, and still put on a performance of the ages.

Ex-Houstonian here, and I can't help but revel in the ongoing playoff travails of your 'Boys. That being stated, I've wanted to see Dak Prescott get a break for once and at least get to a Super Bowl, and hopefully win it. My hostility to "America's Team" goes all the way back to the days of Don Meredith and those losses to Lombardi and the Packers (who I truly despised at the time). My resentment is no longer focused on the Metroplex and its favorite team, but on the Cowboys incompetent and insufferable owner. Playing on a national champion at Arkansas does not make you a football expert. Jerry sees himself as the equivalent of peak Al Davis circa late mid-1970s to mid-1980s. Every knowledgeable NFL fan knows how that story turned out for the Raiders, whom I believe are truly cursed by the legacy of Davis. He moved his team around like a Monopoly piece, betraying one of the most loyal fan bases in the process. Davis is now considered the NFL equivalent of a bad joke. Jerry's reputation is right behind the Darth Vader of the league, over a decade after Al met his hero in Hades. Time is running out for Darth II to stop playing the genius behind the scenes, because at Prescott's clock is running down as well. Not due to his age (he's just 30), but because of his self-confidence.

Nah I’ll take 92 & 93 championship games over this one. Cowboys were the better team here, too. Just 3 uncharacteristic turnovers made it an all game uphill climb. 92 was the best oh the 3 because in 93 Dallas just pummeled SF.

The Niners were pretty darn good in the range of 1991-1998 when Steve Young was their quarterback, but in retrospect 1994 and 1995 were probably the best seasons this iteration of the team put together. 94 won a Super Bowl, and 95 could’ve if Young never got hurt. The teams before then were good, but still felt like they hadn’t peaked yet (in particular in 1993 they transitioned from some defensive players from Montana’s last two Super Bowls). 96’s Niners weren’t exactly a ton worse and still were 12-4 despite injuries (though they aren’t beating Green Bay in 96 even without them if you ask me). 97 and 98 were the years where the team showed its age, and the affects of lackluster drafting started to catch up to them. In 98 in particular they were lucky to get as far as they did. At least that’s my opinion.
@justinturley7071

95 with the loss of Ricky Watters on Offense, it made their offense so one dimensional it wasn’t even funny. Even though they finished 11-5, and got the 2 seed, they were completely outmatched by the Packers (which if the Packers swept the Buccaneers, they would’ve finished 12-4 with the 2 seed and I don’t think San Fran could’ve beaten the Falcons, even in Candlestick) that pick 6 ended any hopes of another Cowboys/49ers NFC championship. The Packers were better than the 49ers in 95, and it showed.
@Erraticsboxingchannel
@Erraticsboxingchannel 29 күн бұрын
@@justinturley7071 I remember at the time when GB upset SF, a lot of people thought the 49ers maybe got overconfident and looked ahead to Dallas. But as the next couple years showed, the Packers just had the 49ers number. In addition to having an excellent team and Favre’s MVP 3 peat, they also had a head coach with a lot of knowledge of the 49ers due to his experience The 97’ team appeared to be the best of those post 94’ teams. They looked really good throughout the season, going 13-3 (without Rice), and having Home Field, and then again had no answer for Green Bay.
@fortynights1513
@fortynights1513 22 күн бұрын
@@justinturley7071A point of clarification: The reason why I think the Niners could’ve repeated in 1995 if Steve Young doesn’t get hurt is because two of the losses in the regular season (vs New Orleans and Carolina) were one possession losses where they started Elvis Grbac when Young was hurt. Grbac of whom threw no touchdowns and two picks in both games. If they win those games (and assuming they still lose the three they did with Young), they go 13-3, and that would have gotten them the one seed. They’d have faced Philly in the divisional round (who they shut out in the 96 playoffs). If we assume Green Bay loses to Dallas in the other divisional round matchup, then their opponent in the NFC Championship Game would be Dallas (who they beat on the road with Grbac), and then Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl. I think there’s a world where the Niners repeat in 95, and that route would have involved dodging Green Bay.
@fortynights1513
@fortynights1513 22 күн бұрын
@@ErraticsboxingchannelThe 97 team played a really good season no doubt, but I singled out 95 because I think there’s a world where 95 dodges Green Bay (and that would be if Young starts two games they lost with Elvis Grbac), and the years afterward I don’t think I could say that.

As a LIFELONG COWBOYS FAN (since 1974), I remember this game like it was yesterday! All these years later, I still can't believe all the turnovers Dallas gave up, especially early in the game that put them in a hole they ultimately couldn't climb out of. The SHOCKING turnovers, at least for me, was Aikman's early INTERCEPTIONS. For a QB that played in MULTIPLE PLAYOFFS and MULTIPLE SUPER BOWLS, Aikman - along with Joe Montana (Giants QB Phil Simms was ALMOST "PERFECT" in his Super Bowl WIN, but that was just "ONE" Super Bowl run. Not "MULTIPLE RUNS" - were ALMOST "PERFECT", but for whatever reason, he was OFF this game. And in some ways, WAY OFF.

These two teams were the class of the NFL in this era, and there was no love lost between them. The latter is still largely the case today, yet neither team hasn't won a championship since this era. At least the 49ers have been to a few Super Bowls in the past decade; the Cowboys can't even get past the NFC Divisional round.

I avoid KZbin copies because they contain additional compression, plus most of them are NOT even second-generation copies and are instead 3rd or worse. That's why most of them look like garbage. I instead only work with games sourced from first-generation collector DVDs. A game recording has to at least be in decent shape in order for me to get a good enhancement result - there has to be 'something' there to begin with in order for the software to do its work. Better the source, better the outcome. Otherwise it would be garbage in, garbage out.
