@@Vinlaell Nah they invented it for every police cars years ago but never really been put into service. And it's main purpose was to make high speed chases history by tagging the car, letting the suspect believe they escaped and slow down, then converge on their position with multiple police cars to block them off. Unfortunately they are using it only as a tool to assist their high speed chases in case they get lost too much behind and have no air survelliance. There is also a much more efficient tool being made around the same times back in somewhere like 2015. There is a net attached to the in front of the police car, police gets close to the suspect and extends the device forward. On contact with tire it just gets strangles the tire and leaves a hardened rope behind it that is attached to the police car. Then police car gradually slow down and there is nothing the fleeing car can do since one of it's tire is strangled and also got reverse towed to another car, well, not unless it's the kind of car Dominic Toretto would admire 😅😅 Unfortunately they are not using it since they love to chase people at high speeds while giving preaches to public how it endangers public...

@@aurorachaserbonnie In reality the Grappler Bumper, the device to which you're referring, is in use at agencies mostly out west, including NM state police and US Border patrol. Waste of a dart. That he would get away from Byrd was never in question.
@TheByard2 жыл бұрын
To be sure with road works and many turn offs the cop did the right thing. If the guy had stopped signaling and turned off lights, he may have got away, for how long that's another question. Are the darts reusable and maybe just another charge.

@rodimusmaximus3912 A bit of a late reply here. I saw this in another comment section on another video about the ASP. Dont know if it's true, but it's possible. "I was weighing in on my way to Texas, and happened to run into an ASP Trooper at the Marion AR commercial inspection station. We were talking about some of the stranger shit you see on the road, and I happened to ask about Trooper Byrd, if the stuff on KZbin was how it always was with him or not. He told me that Trooper Byrd entered his first Pee Wee Go Kart race when he was 7, had gotten into dirt track racing, both 250cc and buggy, during his teenage years, and he currently is into both dirt track and road course racing, though he has less time for it these days."
