what is the name of parts in 1:05? my bracket was broken :( help me! please. I have Honda civic 2003 LX
@NutzAboutBolts9 жыл бұрын
AnimeFinite Piano I would guess its an engine mount bracket. The dealership can help get the exact part if you're not sure.

So the oil pan supports the weight of the engine ?

What if the motor mount doesn't look like it's leaking oil but it looks cracked, I think it should be replaced also right??
@robertkaufman81805 жыл бұрын
if its cracked replace it

Lol I have a b18b1 and lsd gsr trans in mine. Who ever had it before me put all solid mounts besides the driver side. My motor is level put mine lifted and slapped my hood :/ lol

Thanks for this video, you must have a nice camera. I recently did the timing belt on my 97, and I also replaced the top and bottom drivers side engine mounts at the same time, because they were super messed up. Is there another one to replace on the transmission side of the engine? Thanks in advance!
@rizwanrksti20917 жыл бұрын
steven avery can you send me a link where you got the parts
@qualitycontrol54216 жыл бұрын
Rizwan RKsti just check out summit racing, if you havent got parts already. Oreillys would have oem type replacements as well

Would you happen to know if a 1997 Honda HX transmission would fit and work on a 1999 Honda Civic HX? Thanks!
@NutzAboutBolts4 жыл бұрын
All the manual transmissions are interchangable between 92-00, If it's an actual HX trans, it should have same gears and should work fine. The difference is in the gears, the computer is tuned for the gearing. I put an HX transmission into an EX one time and it made the engine act funny. The longest gears are the 92-95 VX trans, that car gets like 50mpg.

Really jack it up on the aluminum oil pan? I gotta replaxe an accessory belt never had a car where i needed to remove a damn engine mount to replace
@koakamaka6 жыл бұрын
nice informative video! but how do you change the passenger side? It must be PITA since it appears NOBODY has a video posted doing the passenger side. I tried, but it hits the frame.
@guero5096 Жыл бұрын
Either gotta fit it in there or drop the motor a tad so it fits in without hitting the frame
@jor58174 жыл бұрын
What is that bracket called connection the mount to the motor
@jassoaddict29 жыл бұрын
@NutzAboutBolts hey my cousin replaced this exact mount and the engine still sags. Like to the point where the cam shaft starts to rub against the frame of the car. I'm not sure what's wrong with it....
@NutzAboutBolts9 жыл бұрын
+Jr Jasso cam shaft?? or axle shaft? hard to say without taking a look.
@jassoaddict29 жыл бұрын
+NutzAboutBolts sorry lol I wasn't clear enough... It's the little wheel looking thing that the belt is attached to by that motor mount
@NutzAboutBolts9 жыл бұрын
+Jr Jasso you mean the pulley? which pulley is rubbing against the frame?
@jassoaddict29 жыл бұрын
+NutzAboutBolts it's the pulley that's right next to the motor mount you replaced... That pulley is rubbing up against the frame cuz the engine is still sagging
@NutzAboutBolts9 жыл бұрын
+Jr Jasso check all the mounts for damage and see if its causing the sagging. It should be very obvious if it's leaning towards one side like that.
@pookiejohnson21557 жыл бұрын
I learned a lot from this video. Thanks for taking the time to show us even though you already replaced it earlier and appear to be an expert at it. It really helps us out who have never done it at all.
@AZULISIMOS10 жыл бұрын
Why sometimes you use impact socket and sometimes regular socket? Thank you for answer my questions.
@NutzAboutBolts10 жыл бұрын
AZULISIMOS we switched it because the regular socket was thinner to get into the nuts. We don't recommend it.
@EsenbekAliev_7 жыл бұрын
wow the easiest mount so far, does it work on 96 accord?
@soccergenius58 жыл бұрын
Ok I have a quick question that might be stupid. If the bracket that you removed is moving in my car, should tighten it or get a new mount? It's like a little wiggle.
@NutzAboutBolts8 жыл бұрын
+soccergenius5 I would tighten down the bracket. It's a separate component from the engine mount itself.
@soccergenius58 жыл бұрын
Oh ok because my left side vibrates like when idle and when accelerating from 0-20. So in guessing it's the mount then?
@soccergenius58 жыл бұрын
Like crazy*
@NutzAboutBolts8 жыл бұрын
Well if you tighten the bracket and it still vibrates, I would change the mount.
@EsenbekAliev_7 жыл бұрын

is there a fluid in the engine mount because the one in my car is leaking fluid right around the top?
@NutzAboutBolts9 жыл бұрын
+David Leonel Perez Yeah there is hydraulic fluid on the engine mount, if its broken, it'll leak out. You will have to replace with a new one.
@davidleonelperez92689 жыл бұрын
NutzAboutBolts i feel alot of vibration when its idle and when it hits around 75 mph, could this be causing it?
@NutzAboutBolts9 жыл бұрын
+David Leonel Perez sounds like it. I would get that replaced

what kind a breaker bar is that? part number please.
@NutzAboutBolts8 жыл бұрын
it's by Snap-on. I don't know the part number, but if you search Snap-On 1/2 breaker bar, it'll show you. It's pretty expensive as well.
@dsanford126 жыл бұрын
It's actually a 1/2 inch drive ratchet , Breaker bars don't have a ratcheting mechanism on them
@AZULISIMOS10 жыл бұрын
Ones again great job, but like I asked you on another video (serpentine tensioner) is the torque important? and if is, how you apply the right torque when you don't have the correct tool for it? Thank you.
@NutzAboutBolts10 жыл бұрын
AZULISIMOS Years and years of practice to get the correct feel on the torque.

If one breaks should we replace all mounts ?
@NutzAboutBolts10 жыл бұрын
Juan Granados no, only replace the ones that are broken.
@bestleesinna77024 жыл бұрын
If one mount is breaking, it probably means the others aren't far off. I usually replace them all every 100,000 to 80,000 miles
@jasonalexander64177 жыл бұрын
What were the symptoms of you broken engine mount?
@rolen477 жыл бұрын
If your engine moves a lot when you shift into Drive and Reverse. When they're really bad your engine will move several inches upward when it shifts. Have a friend shift between drive and reverse while you look at the engine. If your car feels like it's vibrating a lot while driving around is another sign.
@TristonSmith_ThePlumbingSmith5 жыл бұрын
your alignment will be fucked due to the torque making the entire engine and transmission move when you are accelerating

how much is it to repair to a mechanic? how much for the part and how much for the labor?
@DR1BLESS9 жыл бұрын
and it's for a lower mount
@NutzAboutBolts9 жыл бұрын
+DR1BLESS not too sure, depends on where you take it. Dealer always charge more for labor than independent.

Hey thanks great video. But please explain to the people part of the reason you make the job look so easy is because give of take I saw about thousand dollars in ratchets and extensions.
