I had the same issue had numerous mechanics looked at it and I ended up checking out the timing belt, it was off a few teeth, corrected it and it runs awesome now, too bad I spend $1000 in throwing parts at it with 3 different shops for it to be a simple fix buying a clutch removal tool that I did myself good luck

I figured it out, was only a spun Hub on the one side. Still replaced both clutches though.

I work on these all day long. Company I work at has a fleet of 600. Robin and Kawasaki. Shouldn’t need a rebuild if the compression is still that high. Also if your valves aren’t hitting the cover then you are good but check that clearance. The seating surface on the valves are kinda weak on the robin considering their size. Think replacing your clutches are a must lol. Rear clutch you can test by twisting the 2 plates. If they are hard to turn and snap back hard then it’s still good. Your transaxle seems to be working properly still but check that fluid. If you are running a non oem carb then that could be the problem with it running rough. New spark plugs on these engines will surprise you sometimes. Let me know if you still have issues with it I love working on these and helping people out.

You need a valve adjustment. Adjust to 4,000. That the bad starting part. Blowby must be bad valve seating. Adjustment will help there also. As for no power. Check your governor springs. Or, it may be time for a rebuild or new driven clutch (the back clutch). Good luck. That should (and will) help your problems.

What plate are you talking about? I have replaced the drive and put new spring in secondary clutch with no change. Same problem even the compression is the same.

I am having the exact same issue. Did you ever figure yours out?
@rebelbluexxx Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply, but it actually was just a spun hub the entire time. the splines inside the hub were so bad it was polished smooth, not a single tooth left. lol I did replace the main and rear driven clutch because both were worn out. but the issue for it not moving was a simple hub replacement. for me, it was the driver side. passenger side hub was still perfect condition. they have a open diff style rear like a car would have, so when spinning tires in mud/snow only one will continue to spin.

Same problem with mine

So I actually spoke with a golfcart mechanic and he told me that it's the main clutch attached to the motor and the driven clutch in the rear are both bad. I ordered both on Ebay, from main was 160bucks and the rear driven clutch was 120. Plus a 30dollar clutch puller (basically just a big bolt) I haven't had time to replace them yet. But I'm positive that is the problem just in comparison of the new clutches vs the old ones, the old I can function super easily with one hand. The new ones are so stiff with the fresh new springs that it's a bit of a struggle even using two hands to function them. I'll try to get it together soon and post another video if all works out.

@@zachtempleton5300 this is long overdue, but turns out both the main and driven clutch were functional (even though they were old and abused) the reason for it not moving I SPUN A HUB! something I never thought to check. Jack the cart up, go underneath it, grab a wheel as you spin the clutch by hand, if you can hold the wheel in place while spinning the clutch then you have a stripped hub. They're cheap and easy to replace.. ((Here I am ripped out the entire motor to replace the clutches)) owell, live and learn. Lmao 😆 🤣

@@rebelbluexxx I can hold both wheels while running the engine. Is the driver's axle the one that drives the cart? Was it the wheel hub stripped?
@rebelbluexxx Жыл бұрын
@@ttomkin123 Did you find out if it was just a simple spun hub?? that's all that was wrong with mine. just the driver side hub was bad. spun completely smooth.
