I had a 1998 model. Sold it in 2009 with 504 000 km on the clock (315 000 miles). Still ran super smooth. I miss that car even today.

Mine is 25 yo now and I've owned it for almost 23 yrs. Still my daily driver and a joy to have. I think that the '98-2000 are the best of the LS series.

I'm big into American Muscle cars, but boy do I have a soft spot for Lexus in the 90s. Top notch build quality, Toyota reliability, luxurious refinement for a modest price, and you could even get some models with a V8. What's not to love, honestly??

Comparing apples to oranges.. Why did you even compare Saab to the LS400? Saab doesn't have a single car in this segment. The LS400 is a great car, but it's absolutely outperformed by the 9000 and 9-5 Aero from factory. The 9000 and 9-5 put Porsche 911 and BMW 5 series at the time to shame. 260-300 hp easily achievable. In terms of reliability, Saab outperforms every single European premium brand in every segment. But yes the Lexus is possibly one of the most reliable cars ever made.

@@parloitaliano2 I would start with air intake...throttle body...then possible spark plugs ( NGK). fuel is regulated by the computer if it idles....not much you can do to the computer / fuel delivery

#1 think I would change ...not even test it...change the water temp sensor....tells the computer so many things about performance in the !UZ-FE

It just needs the original Lexus wheels, or even the chrome ines with gold badge OEM wheels. The wheels on the car are very ugly and out of time. It takes half of the look away, treat that beauty with nice sets of wheels (or rims if thats what u call it) im not referring to the tires. Just a suggestion as its ur car and u can do whatever u please or what’s available around you (Russia). Im sure ppl view u as some local mobster going around and collecting your pay from the peasants lol. Cheers from USA.
