After doing an oil change, front brakes and replacing the factory stereo on my 2000 crv, I'm finding out just how inconvenient it is to work on these cars. I do appreciate how well they are put together. I have found your videos to be a valuable resource. Thank you.

Even three years later you are helping people out, thank you so much this helped for a 2001 Honda CR-V when I just couldn't find how to get to the cabin filter! Knew it needed to be replaced because dust blows out the vents haha. At first I didn't think it had one until I looked it up and found this video : ))

Hey there! Purely by accident I stumbled upon your video as I was looking for guidance to replace my air hose...I am embarrassed to admit, I had no idea about a "cabin filter", and after watching in horror and wonderment at your replacement, haha!-I immediately went back to the parts store and bought this filter. Holy Zoinks Batman!! It was completely black in color and not a partical of air could of ever gotten through there in years. I thought perhaps a tree had lived and died inside the compartment-where's the mice??? Uncool on my part to be so ignorant, I now feel and breathe better within my Lil Greenie. I am a proud owner of a first Gen 2001 Honda CRV, and want to applaud the ease of understanding with your video. Thank you

You’re the bomb! Thank you for this! CRV GANG ! 💯 I need so much help with mine. 97’ Honda CRV because I think my mechanic is taking my parts smh. Being a girl with this kind of ride SUCKS if you don’t know what the heck you need, but your videos are very educational ! So thank you. Any links to the following would be so appreciated- 1- L/R directional signal doesn’t return to neutral after I make a turn. 2- mechanic said “someone took my red horns.” BS! He took them, but the wire that was connected to the horn that is still there is out - how do I restore original horn until I can upgrade to another set of red horns? 3- Driver side window is stuck - I need a track something so the window can go up and down? Is there a DIY video for that? 4- Am I supposed to cut the cords from the car and connect it to a harness then connect the wires to the radio to the other part of the harness and then connect them together. How do I connect the wires to a harness to connect to a radio if Each radio has a different harness and doesn’t match the harness that is already on the wires of the CRV? Thank you so much in advance 🙌🏼

Your videos have really helped me out with my 98 and 2000 crv projects here in Iowa. You got it made down south with no rusty under body's on your cars. I finally broke down and bought an induction heat tool for those nasty stuck nuts and bolts and it works as good as Mapp gas.

I like how the air box is clearly designed for easy serviceability, but then they placed it such that you have to take the structure of the dash apart to even get to it. When I'd done this a few years ago, I wrapped the frame in duct tape to account for the disintegrated foam. Though I think hobby foam or proper weather stripping would be a better option.

A great video helps a lot. What i did is put the bolts by hand tight only where i can just remove them by hand when it is time to change it again.

Since I removed the Glovebox compartment already, I should change the filter here as well. Thanks. for the video. I removed the box because my 1999 Crv kept stalling in the street. It was scary. It stopped in the middle of the street without any warning. Here are the symptoms. The car started to stall after driving for a while. It stalled. If you wait for around 10 to 15 minutes or even 20 minutes, the car will start again. U can drive normally. Then it will stop again eventually. My wife called AAA twice. The first time, he changed the battery. My wife drove half a block the car died again. The same roadside assistant person returned and said it must be a fuel pump or the car ran out of gas. He added the gas even the needle showed that the gas is halfway empty. The car did not start. My wife called for a tow truck to tow the car home. The driver dropped the car. I got home just in time to ask him to see if he has any idea of the problem. He told me that it must be an alternator. Fuel pump will cost around three to four hundred for part and labor. The alternator might be around the same price range. I don't think I can do a fuel pump, but I might try to replace the alternator myself. I watched several videos regarding the car stalling in the middle of the street for no reason. It might be no spark, no gas, or something else. I decided to change the main fuel pump relay. You have to remove the glove box compartment. Before having someone replace your fuel pump, distributor, or alternator you should just change this really first it cost less than $50.00. Hope it helps. Thanks for the video again.

Cool video, and vey informative. I followed your instructions, however I modified it a bit. The lower brace that is directly in front of the filter was problematic for me. So after removing all the bolts to get it out of the way, I cut it in two places about 3 inches apart. Then I installed a hinge, and bolted it to the brace on the right. Then I used a piece of metal about 2 inches long, and bolted that to the bracket on the left. Then I used one bolt to secure that 2 inch piece to the 3 inch piece. Now all I have to do is remove one bolt, then I can swing the 3 inch piece with the hinge out of the way, and remove the filter. It saved me some work on this job.

definitely more air now comes out of the vents after I changed a filter that probably hadn't been changed in years (I got the 2001 crv heavily used in 2021). I initially thought it was the blend door that was going bad.. but a clogged up filter was the culprit. Honda could have made this super easy and quick, but nooooo.
