Barry Sanders wanted to get traded to Miami. He had a 🏠 house in Miami. But Detroit refused to trade him. I think that is 1 of the reasons Barry retired. He got tired of playing on a mediocre football team.

@ujohnlynch2341 2 жыл бұрын
@@starter47990 Perriman was in his 11th and final year in the NFL in '97 and on his third team in two seasons. He was a possession receiver who average around 12 or 13 ypc his entire career. McDuffie was at best a #2 receiver but was far better suited as a slot guy with similar ypc as Perriman. His career long was 60 yards and that was a catch and run in '98. He was never going to beat a team over the top. WR was a revolving door under the JJ regime, especially when Yatil Green didn't pan out due to knee injuries.

Lions fans have seen these kinds of endings for 62 years. Last second field goals, dropped passes, fumbles, etc. They have been snakebit forever it seems. Like the Cubs one day it will change. When? There isn't a more heartbreaking franchise in the NFL. That includes the Browns, Falcons, Redskins, or whoever you want to compare them to. One playoff win in 62 years. No division titles since 1993 and only 3 division titles since 1967. Just plain weird.

Goldust Mitchell was absolutely a brutal QB. got WAY overpaid to come to Detroit. it’s been a minute but if i remember correctly, Mitchell and the Lions did have the league’s best offense one year and the number two the following year. back when they had Mitchell, Sanders, Herman Moore, Brett Perriman, Johnnie Morton, David Sloan, Schlesinger, Tommy Vardell and probably a few more i’m forgetting. Mitchell was an absolute shitty QB 95% of the time. but for those two years the stars all aligned and the team didn’t look so bad offensively

I totally agree. But even worse than that was their idiot coach Bobby Ross. I remember Barry had asked to be traded or released but Ross refused so Barry said fine I'll just retire.
