First off, thanks for the video it really helped! Secondly, I agree with another commenter that that third screw on the back is a turd and a half to deal with. Thirdly, a tip: If your blender door is stuck somewhere between the two extremes of hot and cold: Remove the old unit, orient it so that you can can see the actuator arm’s position, plug up but don’t fully install the new unit, turn on your key and play with the thermostat setting so that the actuator starts moving to one of the extremes and then turn off your key when the actuator arm on the new unit is as close to the position of the actuator arm on the old unit. It makes install much easier than fighting the blender door by hand.

I drove 4hrs to Texas with a 12v heater shoved in my hoody. I've trouble shooted everything except this. I cant get the part but was able to manually flip the lever and get heat. Thank you. Also it was 28 degrees out this morning. Tomorrow will be a warm drive

Just installed the new servo sub. Worked like a charm, as I expected it would. That back screw was a m-efer. Just so everybody knows reinstalling that screw isn't necessary. Not optimal but not necessary. There is a plastic post that will hold it place so you can just install the front screws.

That sounds like it's the same problem for sure! My climate control is pretty worked too gonna have to replace that asap. Idk if it had something to do with my sub Servo failing but I bet they are all starting to go out on all the 3rd Gens! The best Gen ever ain't it!🥷🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🐐

I appreciate your video. It really pointed me in the right direction. The clicking would start when I turned the temperature up and stop when I turned it down. The ticking sound was exactly as you showed, I could feel it by putting my hand on the unit. When I took the unit out and turned the temperature up and down it seems to move back and forth as it should. And it makes no noise. When I try to move the lever underneath the dash it's hard to move by hand. I can only move it a small amount. It's enough to change hot and cold but to me it seems it should move further considering how much the arm on the servo moves. Would you still think the servo is faulty or is something in my dash possibly stuck? Thanks again for the video.

I believe it does get weak and not powerful enough to move the blend door. I ordered mine off of ebay with the part number I had on the video. It was alot cheaper than going to a Toyota dealership. Could this work the same way but with ac? that part is clicking in my car but I have it set to cold ac and the blower motor spins fine! Could replacing this possibly help me get ac back?

I got my 99 in 00 in LA w salvage title. LA no need for heat so never knew heat didn't work. Moved to LV and need heat...I wonder if only one is to work heat/ac, which would be best to have?🤫

THANKS FOR WATCHING! Not sure exactly what you got going on. But if you hear the clicking(mine was), or if it's stuck blowing cold air(like mine was) then this would solve both ac and heat problems! Oh for sure! It very well could be the problem My Friend. My car was only blowing cold air. But same thing, just that my sub servo motor was stuck in the cold position. Yours could be stuck in the hot position. I would bet that this would fix it if you already did what you said!🙂🙏🏽

My heater air only blows mostly out the defroster and not the 4 vents facing me and passenger but on ac it blows out of the de frost and the 2 side vents idk how to fix it 😂
