Great video. I did find the 12V reverse wire can be accessed up by the driver floorboard, and you can splice and run the trigger wire from that location, eliminating the need to run it all the way back to the camera. And then the camera just needs ground, so you can just tie that just about anywhere, so you don't have to mess with the taillight. Thanks for the clarity about accessory power and all the explanations.

@elliiothart18 I’m looking to do this route, you connect the trigger wire to the driver side wire and the other end goes to the reverse camera wire on the harness? And you didn’t connect ground or power from the backup camera harness?

Trigger wire is power (tire that to camera harness), and tie ground to ground (camera harness, anywhere you want).

@@elliiothart18 do you have a fb to message you on, it’ll be a little easier or a email. Haha, I left a T on my red wire on the radio harness and I connect that to which wire? The to trigger it off my my reverse which wire do I go to, I also have a trailer plug and play that I’m wiring in and led c bar taillights

Thank You so much Mr Provo Beast! I have an '03 and just now got a backup camera to use with my double DIN head unit. Since I am no electrician, I had to watch it a dozen times, but I now have rear camera on demand, and in reverse! I was tempted to just do the reverse angle but glad I did the extra wire. Thanks again!

I've seen in some if your older videos you turned your radio on In your house, how do you do that?

Either a short in the video cable, or the camera isn't getting power.

I think its a different kind of hook up, it has the red wire off both ends and i didnt see in the video where to terminate the small red on the end of the video cable closest to the camera. I played around and could only get the video to stay on always or just work as intended with the truck in reverse. I appreciate the video tho

The parking brake wire? There is a wire off of the parking brake mechanism that we connected it into.

i installed this camera and the image needs to be reversed. The problem is this camera does not have a WHITE LOOP wire to cut to fix this problem. the head unit also does not have a setting to fix it either...

BUYER BEWARE on this camera!!! they ship them stuck in the reverse view position. I have tried two units, both do not work properly, the switch on the harness does not work on either one. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
