We had cathode ray tv's that didnt use that logic, the resolution was 480p, but instead of pixels TV's relied on phosphorous scanlines. And CRT had much better latency since the phosphorous scanlines turned ON instantly.

Daigo is always great at adapting his strategy. You see him lose the first set 3 to 1, but then look at him perform in the next two sets. Incredible.

valle thought it was 3 out of 5 rounds which is why he was pissed. But he would have lost anyway, Daigo figured him out.

You are kind of close. There was supposed to two tournaments. One American style, and one Japanese SBO style. That is why Alex gave that awkward look, because he was confused thinking there was another tournament. However, they told him they have no time. He wasn't exactly "pissed" or "mad" he was confused. He even talks about it in an interview with Bornfree. Cheers!

Alex Valle was at the level of top japanese players, and let me remind you he has beaten Daigo on 2 games on the last 2 evolutions, im pretty sure Daigo aknowledges Valle as one of his fiercest rivals.

@pb879
@pb879 3 жыл бұрын
That wasn't salt. There was supposed to be two tournament one American style rules and the Japanese style SBO rules which is one game no best out of 3. So that's why Alex made that confused look because he thought there was another tournament. So get your facts straight before you opening your e-mouth about salt. Take the salt out of yours first with your Japanese hero worship. By the way Alex beat daigo and emanated him in many tournament and many games after this first time playing each other. You are just an e-scrub. Learn your history.

Alex is a nice person (albiet depressing sounding any time he loses), and he has very agressive style like Daigo... but Daigo just "knows". He's above us all -- even when he was at his lowest -- sometimes even meaning his brain surpases his fingers. This was one of the first matches I've ever seen of him, and he was the only person to ever inspire me SO much to pick up street fighter and his own agressive style (you can see in my video I try to mimic it, despite mess-ups). Props to both of them.

You should check up the OG Street Fighter's with guys like Tomo Ohira the Legendary SFII player and Jeff. Those guys could Shoryuken a Blanka Roll, Headbutt, Psychocrusher from outside sweep range in SFII. Now THAT is sick reaction, not to mention, Jeff put a hurt on Daigo in AE back in 2004, when Daigo was at his peak in his abilities.

I have no low self-esteem, thank you. I feel that Daigo has taught me very much, and I use a lot of his techniques while also combining it with my own style (somewhere around Chinta+Daigo). I'm not talking about Middle Eastern competitive areas. I'm talking about Daigo and his own competition and how he stands against others.

Man SFA 3 and its "Paper Tiger" physics. The very idea of a person floating like a feather destroys the immersion experience. Just like TEKKEN there's the same physics but the Street Fighter 2 and Championship Edition you don't see that concept come into effect. I'm strategy over "Paper Tiger any day and that's the closest you'll ever get to a real fight. Knuckle Up Son!!

I remember during this tournament, there was supposed to be two ways of doing it. The first was to do it traditional japanese style which was 1 set, and then the second batch would be best out of 3 I believe. Valle actually won the entire first set, as seen here, however they didn't go on what they stated and after Daigo won 2 more, then went with the US setting, lol. Valle never took that personally, and although he eventually lost here, he still owned everyone in Japan for free in Alpha2.

@semiballpenman Its true, it suppose to be first to 3. Ask alex valle, if you see in the video alex talks to the guy surprised cos it was suppose to be upto 3. Alex valle said it in an interview too on youtube, i cant find it anymore but he did say it. He said that the japanese thought daigo would not even lose 1 round. So alex was implying cos daigo lost one game, the japanese just ended it there cos they got scared he really might lose.

@ibeplu Lol The rules in this particular set was that both players had to play at least one match on both sides. First match started with Daigo on P1 side. Second match started with Daigo on P2 side. Then they just kept their positions for the third match. This video doesn't show the complete match. It skips parts. The full uncut match can be found in BushinStyle's channel (recorded by video camera). There you can see after the first match both players were prompted to switch sides.

Wow. Wow for the skill displayed in this video, and the total combination of technical and mental ability. And wow for all the ignorance in these comments. To say Daigo was toying with him is ridiculous. He got beaten because he hadn't figured out how to respond yet. He came back because by that time he knew how Alex was going to play I guess.

mad props to daigo valle had homefield advantage, but had to go through his matches while daigo played fresh, and u.s. players were unaware of v. akuma's japanese metagame while daigo got a short glimpse of valle and choi's v. ryu. is that about right? is sf the only scene where top players co-operatively develop character('s) metagames? because i think that's unheard of in smash..
