@@vadimzdonutube Vikings swept the Packers and beat 10-win Dallas. Atlanta did not play those teams. So probably strength of victory. MIN did play a tougher schedule

He had to play the starters, Atlanta had just won their game which made them 14-2. And they went undefeated in their division that season while the Vikings had the one loss in Tampa Bay. If they both finished 14-2 The NFC Championship game would've been in Atlanta, not Minneapolis.

looking back Jeff Fisher from 1996-98 was pretty much given a pass because of their situation with lame duck in Houston and temporary homes and then he took advantage in 1999 and the goodwill from that Super Bowl birth seemed to last a long time
