Just got a 2000 Mustang convertible with A/C problems (system works, don't know if it'll hold a charge). This video is a great start to troubleshoot it without spending a fortune on a mechanic! Thanks!!!

Excellent! I need to diagnose where mine is leaking. Love the tip on using air pressure and soapy water to find the leak.

If you suspect a vacuum leak skip the air pressure test and just put the vac pump on. If it won't pull down where it should then take some acetone or MEK and an acid brush and brush it around the suspected joints. if the vac pump gurgles you have found your leak. This way you don't introduce air or water into the system and sometimes all you have to do is tighten nut, finish pumping it down then recharge. Acetone and MEK are extremely viscous liquids and will evaporate very quickly and will not harm your system. You are only using what little bit is on the brush.

Noted. Thank you for the helpful insight.

You are supposed to remove the cap on top of the vacuum pump where the moisture is coming out.

No you’re not. Manual states nothing of it and I’ve been using it for years this way.

I'm curious about the springs, I have a 99 and the eibach springs are garbage, bottoms out going over an acorn! What did you get and how satisfied are you with them?

@@iamdjnam oh I hear you. Try to make something better or fix something and end up making it worse. Well atleast that’s the story of my life with some things. Last thing that got me were those red vacuum lines on the plenum of my 97 gt. They are so brittle they crack just looking at them. Then you try to buy them and no one sells that harness anymore. Not even Ford. I had to cut and splice the cracked pieces.

@@jamesa6272 Same thing on the 2jz. The coil plugs snap off and you have to splice new pieces in.
