Bought a new lid and the latch. The Tahoe I bought was missing the latch. I now realize why. The little mechanism that opens and closes when you ouch the latch doesn’t want to release the hook all the way. Keeps getting stuck closed. Tried WD 40 and I’m now at a loss as to how to get it to not get stuck even with the new lid

Just watched your video, which I think is extremely helpful. One question...my 1999 Silverado's center console lid is upholstered with the same, matching cloth as my seats. Is there an easy way to remove the matching cloth from my old, broken lid and reapply it to the new lid so it will still match my seats?

You can swap in a Tahoe or Yukon center console or a 4 door upper trim console.
