I bought a window regulator recently from eBay for my 98, and it is configured differently, so you don't have to remove the fixed glass.

2:50 the little spike that you call a bracket should stay in the small vertical window track and come out with it. just unscrew it from the door frame up to and try to wiggle everything out of the gasket/seal up top
