I was at the 24h Race at the Nurburgring last weekend and the M6 GT3 had the most brutal sound of all GT3-cars and it was pretty similar to the M8 GTE, which propably is, because they share mostly the same drivetrain (4.0L twinscroll V8 and 6-speed sequential)

The M6 GT3 was not bad, however this M8 has 400ccm less in her V8, but I got a feeling that she packs a little bit more punch under the bonnet technology-wise. I would love to see what it has, probably the best that motorsport technology nowadays can give you.

hmm i was really stoked when was the m6 unveiled. But disapointed in the engine sound, the turbo engines are kinda boring againts the natural aspirated r8 or 911 or the monster AMG/ bentley sound. And this M8 looks again amazing, but aaaaaahhh....if it have the characteristic sound of M3 GTR or GT2 or Z4 then it´ll be bad ass race car.

Well, i guess it is pretty close. From what i know it tops at around 7000, and considering this is testing who knows what engine mapping / fuel mod they run. They may well manage the engine or limit it for this kind of test.

Cars1999 not at all, just look at the Porsche RSR, it's absolutely loud, maybe as loud as V8 F1 era, I 've heard it in Le Mans 2017 and Spa 2018 this car is insanely loud, there is no regulations for it. Just turbo engine like the new Aston or Ferrari 488 or the BMW make it quiet. Naturally aspirated engine like Corvette V8 or Flat 6 Porsche are loud as hell. F1 are quiet because of turbo + hybrid, cost reduction that's it
