Fantastic 3-Wheelers,the true essence of Morgan
@leslieaustin151 Жыл бұрын
Somehow, a Morgan vee-twin racing a decent course seems the essence of motor-sport. You can keep the red Italian stuff, and even the other Brit gear, the Moggie does it for me. The smell of Castrol R and burnt methanol and the sight of such a lovely thing drifting round the corners is “it”. Thank you for a great video. Les

@Biokemist-o3k Жыл бұрын
I used to rappel out of helicopters to neutralize explosive devices and was involved in one too many accidents but I love the old airplanes. I fell in love with a certain one though. It is a 1928 Morgan RIP with a GN rear making it a special. It has aircraft fabric and plasticizer dope sprayed over it. I am in the states and that is the only one in existence that I am aware of so I am building one from scratch using an opposed twin experimental aircraft motor to which I cast and machined an adapter to an MGB 4 speed transmission giving it a reverse gear and then through a driveshaft to an MGB rear differential with juice brakes and those beautiful wire wheels. I am using as close to the color of the original red as I can find for the fabric. It will have a wooden and metal frame and be almost an exact replica . The differences will be mainly safety such as A-arm front suspension and a pumped and pressurized fuel cell. It will look like it just needs a prop and wings and it could lift off. I will be starting to video the build as soon as my equipment comes in.

I'd love to do a crazy project with a three wheeler. Like adding either a diffuser on both sides of the rear wheel, and/or massive rear splitter for downforce. Active rear splitters, to activate downforce on the inside when cornering. It would probably have a similar feel, like driving a side car. The goal would be to achieve as much grip on the rear, as a good 4 wheel sports car. Still, would also love to drive one, that's completely, intact original.

Loved every part of this! Then sound of their engines, they way they handle. Looks like so much fun. What I don't understand is: They don't have headlights. Maybe you don't need them for this up hill run, and because it is held during the day. Other ones I have seen, old ones like these, almost always have headlights and tiny rear marker lights. I see them and imagine if they had wings,...like an old bi-plane, I could imagine them taking to the air. Marvelous,....keep 'em running, gentlemen!
