I'm generally opposed to stock removal instead of forging to shape, but I can get behind it in this case where you're recreating a historic blade and showing folks how they can get into knifemaking. Hopefully the sawblades they find are proper high-Nickel-content sawblades and not the modern cheap bi-metal shit where only the teeth are blade steel, lol. Can you imagine the trash blade that'd make, lol... no sparks on the grinder, can't hold an edge, just a mess, and the poor new maker is wondering why the hell it wouldn't harden and temper. But that's just a tangent... Great work as always, mate. Beautiful result and fantastic craftsmanship. Beeswax and linseed oil, w00t w00t, lol. Thanks again for the awesome content as usual, bro.

That turned out really good looking! I was surprised the gazelle antler was hollow, but it looks like you made the best choice available to fill it in and make it sturdy. I also didn't expect this knife to turn out so _large._ Hard to get a sense of scale from the photo you showed at the beginning, but dang it turned out to be a fine piece.

Thanks mate, yeh they have a big hollow so had yo fill to give it a better support. I had to make the blade proportion to the handle but I know these varied in size

Any real difference to sawdust versus a fiberglass based dust in the horn? I've don't some minor boat repairs and use the fiberglass dust because it's supposedly strong, but curious to know if saw dust has any better hold.

I used it cause its what i have to hand and yeh it’s solid stuff, I imagine anything mixed with epoxy is similar to a Pykrete material

Because of this build I found something called a Saca Tarpis. Or a Sacatchete. (Spelling is wrong). A curved folding blade with no lock, a ring and leather string to hold it shut. Made to the curve of a goats horn that’s the handle. It’s called the gut ripper. A old goat herders blade. Would love to see your take in it. It’s used curve up. Wickedly lethal blade. It does as advertised, opens up your guts.
