At 20 psi with that turbo you should be making 400-420whp. Something doesn't add up, either dyno reads extremely low (low % chance) or your tuner isn't great. Most likely you need a different tuner

Dyno dynamics is one of the lowest reading dynos. It's nicknamed the heartbreaker dyno. Lol
@mikotyo936 ай бұрын
Actually surprised it only made low 300s… up until last year I had this exact set up on my Chaser and made 580whp. You should definitely be able to get more out of it. Your numbers can be done with stock turbo
@SDSGarage896 ай бұрын
Yeah I think there are some compounding factors here. 1 being the Dyno dynamics unit this was tuned on reads very low. Hind site being what it is I don’t think we took it as far as we should have boost wise, plus I was starting to have a fuel pressure drop at the very top of the RPM range when I looked back at the logs.

Thats crazy id of thought youd be well over the 400s with that setup, the 1j in my supra made 346bhp on stock turbo ct15b
@SDSGarage896 ай бұрын
Yeah it has left me with a few questions. Dyno dynamics Dyno’s read very low so that may be a factor. It still rips which is great but a bit disappointing for from a numbers perspective.

That filter looked like i had a recess on it so it probably acted as a velocity stack. Only reason i could figure why it made more power
@turbonola2 ай бұрын
And yeah my old setup non-vvti 1jzgte, hx40, 550cc, 19psi on a dyno dynamics made 350hp on the dot. Converted to what a dynojet reads is 417hp so yeah you made it. 😂

why such low numbers? surely good for 500

Hi bro i have a 6+6 blade turbo 62/84 from aliexpress with a mambatek wastegate spring 25 psi hybrid ct15 making 500hp on e85 this is crazy.
@1jzjavi3 ай бұрын
I also only spent 400 for the turbo and 120 for the adjustable wastegate acuator

What kind of gear box in it and how did you fit that 1jz in can you show the fab?

Loving the series man, all your parts I’ll put on my 1jz Toyota chaser. Will you be happy with the current 330+ hp or make it go to 400+ mark?
@SDSGarage896 ай бұрын
Thanks man! Glad you like it. So my ego and wanting 400 is less than pleased, but the hour I drove this thing it was a blast. Taking it drifting soon to see how it changed it on track, new rear gear later this summer and we’ll see. By pure numbers it sucks but driving it is a blast so can’t be too upset.

@@SDSGarage89the thing is all the hard work is done, probably wouldn’t be too hard to get a bigger rear housing or go up to a 770 style turbo
@SDSGarage895 ай бұрын
@@234567king that’s definitely on the list of potential solutions for more jam. Going to have a good friend and excellent tuner pick through ECU calibration and tune to see can be optimized with the current set up.

The turbine housing is too small for that engine to breathe properly, this dyno graph looks like a stock undersized turbo is on the engine. The tell tale sign is when the engine makes more torque than horsepower on the dyno graph. It may be happier with an .82ar turbine housing instead.
@marcopolo82496 ай бұрын
Any ideas what was restricting it from getting more hp? Any inputs from your tuner?
@SDSGarage896 ай бұрын
Noodling a few things around. Sorta guessing at back housing size but not sure yet.

Thanks for the update. If you find out let us know. I was thinking of getting same turbo with similar set up but with 260 kelford cams.
@SDSGarage896 ай бұрын
@@marcopolo8249 off the hop a larger AR, like a .82 would help. This thing is fully lit at 4,000 RPM which is nice and responsive for drifting

There was a few things at play here, but you nailed the timing issue. 🤝
@MostlyCensored4 ай бұрын
@@SDSGarage89 I’m an old 7m mk3 guy, it always amazed me the torque the 1j makes when tuned properly. I’m not a pro, but the rod ratio has to be the culprit. I’m planning a 1j build right now and already predicted a lot of tuners will default to timing max best for the longer stroke of the 2j so I was listening for the snappiness of an advanced timing and it sounded like that was what was missing.
@SDSGarage892 ай бұрын
@@MostlyCensored based on my conversations with Mr. King, we could push to the top end timing about 5 - 6 more degrees. Running pump 94 + VP additive. Haven’t got there yet as he advise knock headphones are key when pushing timing to avoid unscheduled disassembly.
