I've got a setup on my Mercedes om617 diesel using a splitter and 2 bbq regulators fir a two stage injection. I have had the explosion proof solenoids stick open on me quite a few times. Best bet is two in series so if one sticks the other still shuts. It sure wakes up my little 5cyl. I use a hobbs switch to keep activation only over the set boost pressure also. I have an arm switch right next to the shifter and an activation switch to whack it if the solenoid does stick.

How much of an extra strain is put on the block containing the combustion though. Yes it burns faster creating extra power when you need it but that faster burn comes with higher forces in the cylinder which can cause problems long term.
@BusGreaseMonkey3 жыл бұрын
90% less than adding a turbo.
@jaquigreenlees3 жыл бұрын
@@BusGreaseMonkey that little? a turbo is full time extra pressures in the cylinder. The propane boost you would really only use on major hills if I'm understanding right, so 99.995% of the time it's not active.
@markphilpott87353 жыл бұрын
Big misconception here. It does not burn faster. Faster ignition means shorter combustion, kinda like detonation in a gasoline engine. Gaseous fuel injection into a diesel actually gives you longer burn, thus longer combustion which provides more power.
@BusGreaseMonkey3 жыл бұрын
It cools the air going in. It mixes through the blower and is positioned everywhere in the cylinder and provides a more complete burn when the diesel ignites it.

@BusGreaseMonkey3 жыл бұрын
No turbo but that is not a super charger. It is a blower. When put on another engine it may then become a super charger but in this configuration its just a charger not a super charger. This engine won’t run without it. No turbo on this one
