Love your reaction to this song. The Beatles were great at doing cover songs. Of course they created their own songs, and they were masters in that area. I love their covers of "Twist and Shout", "You Really Got a Hold on Me", and "Please Mister Postman."

Thank you Sue. I hope you keep on doing reactions to the Beatles songs. Another early song of theirs that's underrated in my opinion is "This Boy." This song was written by John, and it's on the second side of a singles that they did. The first side of this single is "I Want to Hold Your Hand", which I think we all know. Thanks again.

Hi Sue, this song that the Beatles played in Hamburg during their formative years before getting a record contract, so it was a shoo in for their album. It is very good indeed.

John kills the vocals here. This is a cover of the 1962 Arthur Alexander song "Anna (Go To Him). Between 1963-64 The Beatles were the kings of cover's. No one has ever done covers better. The Beatles are still the greatest cover band ever to this day. Peace ❤

I love almost all of the Beatle's covers on their early albums, but this one is the one I belt out when driving alone. I know they didn't have much room on later albums with their incredible volume of original music, but I still wish they had continued slip in a cover or two.

Hey Lee, i really enjoyed this one. It was a great surprise for me as I have never heard it. John's vocals are great on this track....wonderful song 😀💙

Ringo did a great job lifting the drum part from the Arthur Alexander original. It's a unique pattern and he re-used it in variants on a few other tunes in later years. In My Life comes to mind offhand. Also noticed on this track I think I'm hearing George's voice a little stronger than Paul on the background vocals. Usually Paul's vocal parts were pretty dominant.

Absolutely adore this ! .. One of my very faves by The Beatles .. Love John's raw impassioned lead vocals, the wonderful backing vocals, and the beautiful melody line .. You brought up Arthur Alexander when reacting to Elvis's "Burning Love", and I mentioned The Beatles did 2 of his songs .. this one and "Soldier of Love" .. If you liked this, then SOL live at the BBC is definitely worth a listen !

Hey Wayne, yes this song was amazing. I loved the whole feel of it...little different than some of their older stuff and as you said the vocals on this absolutely rock. I loved John's voice in this one. Great memory on you about the Elvis vido and A.A! I will definitely check out S.O.L. Thanks a bunch, my friend 😎💜

Sue, before you go now, I want you to know now, that I dig your reactions. Yeah, I was a kid when these early Beatle songs were playing on the AM radio with Mom driving me to play basketball at the YMCA as the slow rain fell through early darkness. "I Want to Hold Your Hand" was the one I remember the most being played.

Hi Willieboy, I love the memories that music creates for us. It is like we will always be in a particular place in time at any moment because music brings us right back there. So we can always be 8 or 16 or 24 etc. Music just brings so many memories and such joy. I appreciate that feeling so very much. Thanks for sharing that memory 😍

Sue, THANKS for reacting to "ANNA" it was one of my favorite covers of theirs, ALL their covers were even better than the original versions even though they stuck fairly true to the original but their's just sounded so much better to me. Really, you should just go through their entire first UK album "Please Please Me" which was recorded basically live in 12 hours. "Anna" is on this album and so if their voices sometimes sound a little strained, that is why, 12 hours, an entire live album. You could react to maybe 2 songs at a time because they are mainly short. Then after that, go through their 2nd UK album "With the Beatles" then 3rd album "A Hard Day's Night"...4th album "Beatles For Sale," and 5th album, "Help!" You said you mainly started at middle of their career so I am wondering if that was with their 6th album "Rubber Soul"? But really, starting at the beginning of their recording career and going chronologically in order is the best way to see how their music evolved and progressed through just 7 short years. But don't forget the singles that they had between their albums because MOST of them were NOT on their albums. ENJOY the journey!

Hi Patti, yes is an amazing cover! That is unbelievable to think that they recorded the whole album in 12 hours straight...amazing!! 😊
