AUDI WING SMASH! | My Aluminium Repair Challenge!

This was another challenging Aluminium repair, this time it was multiple damage on the front wing/fender/guard of an Audi TT. Watch the video to see the full repair from start to finish.

I'm a pdr tech with 27 years experience, and I'm still learning. I appreciate you showing the tips you're using, and the techniques. Other KZbinrs are impressive, but there's little to learn because they don't teach. They leave us thinking "How did he do that?". You actually teach (it is the oldest profession, I don't care what they say) and that makes the difference.

How is studying pdr?

@@drsprogg33 You can study on your own, but it is better to study at school. The duration of training is from several days to two months. Studying is expensive. I studied in France. 1 month - 5200 euros. It is very important to understand that after training, you need to train for at least 6 months. It takes a lot of patience both in the long term and when you get the job done. In any case, if you are really interested in this profession, try to learn as much as possible about it.

I cut one of those ratcheting cargo hold poles down to under half and used it for applying lateral tension between two pieces of wood, glued to both sides of deep damage to open it and reduce pressures which in turn makes it move easier and a lot cleaner.

Fantastic result getting the panel line sorted - I had a crease in a similar place on my RS3 caused by someone opening their door into it and I know how difficult that detail is.

Am an auto electrician doing installations on-site but lucky me, am working in Australia Brisbane where rain comes up 20 - 30 days per year only, I feel for you my friend, and believe me I know how hard it is to work out in the rain. Is there a reason your stick on light is a plain white light instead of the striped ones from the other guys? No clue about PDR but these mesmerizing videos make me want to learn.

Every PDR tech is different, I just find the plain fog light is easier on the eyes especially on long repairs:-)

Great Repair, aluminum is always much more difficult to repair. Much better to repair this damage than send to a bodyshop for a daily driver.

Wow! I really enjoy watching your work. I have a 2017 Civic that gets hit every now and then. So far I had success in removing dents. But this one time I found my self against the left rear wheel fender is reinforced with another layer of aluminum? Impossible to remove lows and level it out. Any suggestion on this kind of panels?

Rear wings are usually double layered, so glue pulling can help otherwise finding any hole nearby and using thing wire tools etc can help. I also struggle with these type dents:-)
