1UZ V8 Swapped Lexus IS300 First Start

I ran into that exact issue with two of my 1uz/w58 swaps. It turns out that there is a slight variation in the length of the shaft the t56 hydraulic throw out bearing slides on. I think it’s manufacturer dependent. Some are a fraction of an inch longer and will touch the hub of the clutch disc and make that screeching noise. After a few minutes of idling, it will self clearance and the noise will stop. Remember this if you ever have to remove the throw out bearing and you should see wear marks at the end of the shaft/tube. I have a video of my first startup on my 3uz Supra and this same noise can be heard. Cleared up later.

Havent seen the rest of the videos yet but that nosie i had that on mine and the presusre plate was rubbing on the face of the gearbox within the inside of the bell housing...put a groove in the gear box and started to leak oil...toast.!

Interesting! makes sense though! Ive put about 7k miles on the car so far with no issues other than a valve cover gasket leak so far. Give the rest of the video series a watch for sure though :)

good job man the sound was the pilot bushing if it has one of them instead of a bearing if my guess but ?YTBD towout bearing geting all seated in place i would drive it sounds find now thing have to clearance them selfs ;]

The only benefit is it has stronger connecting rods. It makes way less power

@@miltonmartinez6698 from my understanding the 3UZ is best for making the most NA power, but its less than ideal if you want boost or nitrous. It has the thinner connecting rods and also thinner cylinder walls because its just a bored out 1UZ. Food for thought!

Hello, I bought a Lexus ls400 and want to full rebuild the engine and do have an idea how much it would cost? Also transmission is starting to give out, should I rebuild it or get a whole used one or is it possible to stage 2 an automatic transmission

Rebuilding the engine yourself will cost around $1500 for all the parts and hardware, plus the cost of machine work if anything needs machined. As for the transmission, find another, theyre a dime a dozen.
