i really think the Panzer is better overall and struggles way less in uptiers

In real life the Sherman had way more going for it, but as far as Warthunder is concerned, the Sherman is better on hilly terrain and downtiers, especially once you get a feel for the stabilizer. It also has a higher skill cap, as once you get better at aiming for weak points and learning them, it starts to do quite a bit better. The Panzer IV does better in Uptiers though, as it's more point and click, and you get used to the tank earlier on, with the line starting with the 4C, with all the upgrades largely playing the same, so it's certainly more new-player friendly.

the Sherman is a good tank, but personally i like the Panzer IV better, mainly because it gun can pen a good 2 or more inches

the sherman player sold completely and his tank was seemingly not spaded, the turret should have turned fast enough in the first encounter and he was aiming behind him while peeking a corner like a goober

Irl the Sherman was better due to the fact the panzer IV H was a late war tank and at that time it was facing heavy armor and really good enemy cannons

yes, but keep in mind the M4A2 Sherman was also being used a lot of in late World War II, so both would have fought each other a lot

@ yes that is super true but by the time the panzer IV was introduced in 1944 for example it was facing IS-2 tanks IS-1 tanks and correct me if I am wrong T26E4 tanks?

Well it was introduced in 43 but most mostly fought in 44 and 45
