Ok to be 100% real, having money generally makes it easier to see gains purely because it’s easier to do and less stressful. For example buying meal prep is easier than cooking something and prepping yourself. You know the macros without having to measure and it saves so much time. Hiring a trainer or coach makes it easier to keep on track and not flake, it also helps to push you. I’m not saying it takes money to get in shape, what I’m saying is having money makes it easier.
@TheSyconerd2 жыл бұрын
It's definitely the access to things that money makes easier
@esmee63082 жыл бұрын
Having money makes everything easier but, honestly, I feel fitness is the thing that's changed the least for me as my financial situation improved. For €19.95 a month I get access to: DBs from 2kg to 50kg, fully equiped squat rack, pull up station, multiple machines, a gymnastic area, dip bar, foam roller, yoga mat, scale, a warm shower, free wifi. Food-wise it's made me more concious about both my calorie budget, as well as financial budget, giving me a cheaper middle ground overall, but obviously since I care about macros and general health now, I won't slum it down on €1.00 a day just hitting maintenance, but nowadays I also know the macros, price and total calories of every recipe I know, making informed decisions rather than uhm, I'm hungry, let's just grab something. Everything else, I got straps for 10 bucks that are still going strong years later, I train on socks (recommended by my physical therapist due to disability/balance.) Sure, learning to program and to cook is an initial time investment, but it pays off, nor is it hours upon hours for weeks like most skills. It's like starting with a progam like Will gave in his video, then inform yourself as you go and adapt. In return you get the best enjoyment vs efficiency balance. Or proats or eggs and slowly build up to a personal go-to recipe collection. Cooking stays a small time-investment, but everyone's gotta eat, this isn't fitness exclusive and take away is also more expensive than cooking your own meals, and you always got options like putting a bowl on a scale, throw in some fruit, nuts/seeds and low-fat yogurt.
@chi78182 жыл бұрын
@@esmee6308 I 100% agree with you, but it’s still nice to not have to worry about that $19.99 a month or worry about how much money you are spending on food, or getting the better quality food such as grass fed beef or even bison. The informed decisions are a luxury you can afford because your financial situation has gotten better. Again I’m not saying you have to spend hundreds of dollars a month, but the knowledge that if your straps break you can buy new ones without worry is what I mean by having money makes it easier.
@esmee63082 жыл бұрын
@@chi7818 That's for sure. It's very comfortable position to know I can replace things when they break as well as buy in bulk. Maybe I'm pessimistic but I feel once you go full broke, you're at the worst position to climb out of it. Hence I'm still quite frugal even in a better position than before. Though I find it funny how in between my time on the streets and now, my fitness spendings haven't increased other than I now got proper shoes and two pairs (another great example, shoes last way longer when you wear them every other day.) Given the value has shifted, free wifi and the showers were the justification before and unused now.
