Been doing extraction method on my audi a6 and mercedes e400, the trick is is to not push the hose all the way in use the biggest tube to make a complete seal around the dipstick tube about a inch down. After only 6 or 7 mins all the oil comes out. If you use the smaller tube and push it all the way down only 60% of oil will extract I remember first time i attemped extract i was not impressed but watched another video shows how to properly extract. One great thing about both vehicles the filter is on top no need to go under!

My A4 B7 is 3.2. Cartridge filter on top. That little 4 cylinder and that's the best place Audi could find for a filter location. Crazy.

Dude in the audizine forums says his oil extractor got stock deep in the engine... that scares me. He had to take the pan off tie fix it. Id thing an oil extractor would be good because it would poke and break up that sludge and suck it out also. I cut a hole in my belly pan so I can change the oil without taking it off.

I got the same engine. Next time loosen the filter housing then from the top place a ziplock bag around the housing and take it all the way out - no mess. Clean the housing, put new filter and screw it back. I believe that that I have a oil leak from the oil filter housing and have to replace the gasket amount other things like intake valve cleaning and timing chain replace with the tensioner.

Other than using the extraction tube improperly and claiming you have to remove and replace the filter from underneath, it was perfect.

Thx for demonstrating this! I will continue to drain plug my OC’s on my EA113 since I have to get under the car for the filter change anyway. Really not saving any time. Get my main oil drain pan under the plug while I drain the filter into a separate smaller one.

I’m renting a VW Jetta right now. It has the 1.4T I believe. Anyway, I noticed that the check oil level light was on a few minutes after we left the airport where I picked it up. My wife called rental car place and told them. They said we never send a car out low on oil and he said it’s probably just the altitude.😀so I reset the light and said let’s see if it comes back. And 20 minutes later it came back on. So I had my wife call them again and let them know we reset the indicator and it came back. Same response. So I drive a couple hundred miles the next day. No issues light still on. Anyway, as I do not know how low it actually is I decided to go to Walmart and bought a qt. Of Super Tech 0w-20. I put 1/2 qt in and light turned off. Now I can use it w/o worrying about spinning a bearing. This is why I never buy rental cars.

You can buy a screw on hose to drain the oil filter before removal.

I had the same engine with my a4 b7 2.0tfsi what i did when removing the oil filter , from the top just place a small bin bag to the surrounding of the housing filter then remove it, allow for few mins and just a little wipe then install a new one no oil drip on the floor.

I have this but it's more headache to use than cleaning the oil mess. I usually don't lift the car during oil change. 19mm wrench, 1/2 ratchet+36mm socket+wobble/swivel adapter+5 quarts 0w40

@@rayj33 i can connect my drain from the engine bay without lifting the car. easier than a mess IMO

1:49 You don't need to jack the car up to get to the oil filter from the bottom. It can easily be reached down by the side of the engine.

I cant believe you didn't put a drain pan, just to measure how much still came out. Plus the floor. Of course the vacuum wont get it all out.
@toledotom572 жыл бұрын
he lifted the car on the right side away from the drain plug. There is a small depression inside the pan to help aid the removal. when you put the car in level position any remaining oil collect down near the drain plug. Oh, well, I got a good laugh out of it!

A lot of those oil extraction tubes aren't thin enough to go to far past the dipstick tube and get to the bottom of the oil pan.

Looking forward to the Transmission flush and see how many quarts end up on the floor? You spent .35 on oil absorb, .25 on extra soap to clean your clothes and at least $4.75 on brake clean and $2.00 on shop towels plus and extra 45 minutes in clean-up? I am thinking the plug on the bottom of the oil filter unit was missing due to not tightening it down properly. Similar to a Lexus where a platic pop bottle can be pushed up and realese and remaining oil in the filter holder and NOT cause a big mess prior to removal? Might help to maybe remind yourself next time! Lmao

That was the loudest valve chatter of whatever upon starting that up.. wow what was that? I hope no damage. Never heard any generation of the 2L Audi’s sound that loud. I remember something about one of your other videos about not changing oils , so if an oil like mobile 1 which meets VW502 is used should I stay with that oil? Or will ANY VW502 approved oil work? Also thoughts on adding rislone or amsoil oil additive as the 5th qt? What about adding MMO to the motor, in your experience what is best to keep the rings clean?
