Excuse me folks, can't see ANY luck here by either player, just great shooting, safety play and moves. True, Bustamante doesn't quite make the most of his chances here, but Efren obviously doesn't put a foot wrong after he inadvertently runs into the 7 early in the game when he could run out. Fascinating game, one to watch and think about several times. Thanks for uploading, cheers!

Doesn't ever matter which ball goes in first or last. You only need to make the ball you call in the pocket you call, doesn't matter how it happens (contacting your suit first, of course).

Everyone gets lucky in pool, even Efren. Even he cannot execute 100% of the shots he sees in his head. He understands the subtle motions of the cue ball and has the best ball control of anyone in the game. Rumor is a top pro once remarked "Efren probably forgot more shots than I know".

there was no draw on that. At least, there isn't a need for it, anyway. He just thinned it with a tip of right english. The 3 made so little contact with the cueball that you wouldn't need much manipulation.

Billy Incardona ought to retire from the booth. Who is he to question Efren? When playing him in Texas, he had to alter the table that he and Efren were playing on because Efren whooped him the previous night. Even Efren said to Billy "not same table." I'd much prefer Danny Diliberto if they are going to have an old school player commentate.

At the 1 min mark Bustamante should have pocketed Efren's 6 in the lower left and at the same time made his 3 that was in the lower right pocket. Give him ball in hand with 2 balls tied up.

Efren is shooting solids in this rack. At that point in the video, Efren shoots the 3 ball very thin and pockets that ball first. After that (since he pocketed one of his solid balls) it doesn't matter what ball gets pocketed as long as it's not the 8 ball. After his shot, the cube ball hits the 6 ball and the 6 ball pockets the stripe thus clearing the pocket allowing Efren to run the rest of the rack. It's not a very difficult shot but he played the rack like a game of chess and strategically placed the 3 ball there to block the pocket and then moved the 6 down there later. Good lessons in the video for serious 8 ball players.

@@davideivid82 The rules specifically state that the cue ball must strike a ball of the shooters group first. In other words, as long as you hit one of your ball first, it doesn't matter that your opponents ball falls in first as long as your called ball is pocketed. A good example is when your opponent's ball is sitting deep in the pocket. You can shoot your ball into that ball. Your opponent's ball will fall in first, then yours will follow. As long as you called your ball and that pocket, it's still your shot.

Technically it was a draw. He shot the 3 with massive bottom right English causing it to go its natural route, till it hit the rail. Once it did, the bottom right took effect, it came back and to the right. So it was a draw, if it was just right only, it would came off the rail straight instead of back diagonal
