Great video and nice angles. I will reference this more in the future. Thread zapper, it worked great for a couple of days, then the tip kept popping out, I taped it, but it doesn't heat properly. Honestly it's another bad Chinese product, you probably got a good one.

It's not a straight replacement. Saddle stitch is definitely stronger than these, but I like using a variety of styles where I can. Thanks for watching!

That first one is super-useful adjoining two pieces of leather when you don't have enough leather to make a one-piece panel. It looks good, but doesn't work well for thin pieces of leather.

With the X stitch, not baseball one. Do u have to reset the thread each time you make the X or just the 1st time?

I know that you might not see this video, But I am new to leather crafting and love your videos and want to try to get into them but I have no idea where to find leather that is decent but not going to break the bank. Do you have any tips on that or a video I could watch? Thank you!

I'd check out OA Leather Supply. They sell SB Foot leather which is a really nice oil tanned leather that sells for a pretty good price.

I liked and subscribed. Good clear teaching, calm and not rushed. I had seen the thread burner in a previous video several months ago and looked for it thinking I might try one but the reviews were not good. Have you had any issues since you purchased yours? One minor critique... The background music was a bit distracting to me. You spoke very well and don't need it.

What is best way to use baseball stitch and similar, when sewing the leather while the leather is against the object it is being sewed against (not to the object but sewn in place) ? I have a hard time getting the needle through the holes without breaking needles, punching through other than through the holes, etc.. Love your videos.
@daemoncapps84228 ай бұрын
I'm new to the leather world, but I'd imagine that's where curved needles come into play? I'd hope that you'd be able to sneak it under and pull through without too many issues I think.

Nice video. I actually started this past year about the same time you did. But I’m not crazy about wanting to be on video. Where did you get the thread zapper and those scissors? I’m still using these plastic scissors that came with my first kit but they are dying on me

Hey Bryan thanks for watching! Both the thread zap and snips are from Amazon. Super cheap too.

Stupid question (I'm watching on a small screen) - are the holes for the Baseball and Cross Stitches round or cut with a normal diamond stitching punch? Great tutorial btw - thanks for sharing :)
@BlackFlagLeatherGoods3 жыл бұрын
There are no stupid questions. I like a round stitching hole on everything I make. I have done this with a diamond punch as well, though, and it works. It probably looks a bit better with the round holes, but I'm also biased. Thanks for watching!
@glenbuyer87383 жыл бұрын
If you use diamond chisel have the diamonds slanting down towards each other, meaning punch one side on the back, looks a lot nicer

How much thread do you measure out? I have about an 18" run? Like 4x or 6x?
@BlackFlagLeatherGoods Жыл бұрын
I usually do 4x.
@TonyDiem Жыл бұрын
@@BlackFlagLeatherGoods I do 4 for saddle, but the cross stitch, I went with 8x for the repair and reason I found this video. Whew, it got close. Thanks so much for the reply. And again the video was really helpful.
