Think the common Shiitake mushroom doesn't pack a medicinal punch? Think again!

SHI**AKE mushrooms are a flavor bomb! Soak them overnight, cut the stalks off, use the broth for cooking rice, use the mushrooms for cranking up the taste of anything or as a main ingredient. I cook them in water with sprouted beans, onion, celery root and any dried fruit (apple, pear, prune), then add soy sauce at the end... Delicious!

It becomes more and more apparent that mushrooms are a viable nutrtitional product. There are many other properties of mushrooms with VItamins, Minerals, Aminos, and herbal supplement attributes.

its the only product that could be proper b12 vitamin vegan food if grown under UV light. The ONLY ONE + maybe few other mushrooms...

I did onions, garlic, salt and a red sweet pepper. Avocado oil, butter, and after the mushrooms are all the butter and oil, I pour a cup of Pinot Noir and let the mushrooms soak it all up! Don’t soak the mushroom in water because mushrooms drink everything. 1 cup of wine per 8oz of mushroom 🍄

Question is: most mushrooms are grown in mushroom houses. How do we find a source that has exposed the mushrooms to UV light for vitamin D production? I have not seen this in any product information for mushrooms, so I would not bank on mushrooms for my vitamin D, unless you guys know where to find vitamin D- replete mushroom products.

You can do it yourself when you get home. Set them out in the sun full side up. I still recommend additional vitamin D supplements though. Most Westerners are extremely deficient and Vitamin D is necessary for all body processes. Every human cell in your body has a receptor site for vitamin D, which is actually a sterol hormone, normally produced in our skin, not a vitamin.

Anybody heard of this way of boosting vitamin D content in mushrooms? I have heard that exposing mushrooms to sunlight, gills up, can do this. While considering this, I came up with the idea of placing mushrooms under a UV lamp.
