We are all sinners - Wether your a non-believer or a believer we still continue to sin....I and 2 Corinthians has helped me stay in check and constantly have to check (examine myself inwardly) and continue to correct my flaws, my bad habits, as a man... For a time there was a popular saying on t-shirts, bracelets, etc...What would Jesus Do (WWJD)? This is applicable in our Daily Lives - Do you agree? First know and accept Jesus - Follow Him - Test and ask WWJD- It begins Inward then it will show Outward Thanks Team Branch Together

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (June 7, The Holy Trinity), 2 Corinthians 13:11-13 was our New Testament Lesson (or Epistle) of the Day. Corinth: the New York City/Las Vegas of the Bible. Agree or disagree. Feel free to reply.

I think any city of gentiles can relate to Corinth. Why New York City and Las Vegas?

I’m curious, how long will you be doing these daily bible studies, as in for a year? Two years?
@BranchTogether6 жыл бұрын
We have been told that this has been very helpful for people to be consistent with engaging the Bible, so we want to keep the channel going. The format will probably change over time, but we could read the New Testament every year and it would never get old! So, we aren't sure how long we will go for, bit hopefully not stopping anytime soon.

I am so blessed, inspired and encouraged by these videos. I wish there were videos like this for the old testament too.

I am curious about verse 11 the part about striving for total restoration. What does it mean biblically.

2Co 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. This verse?

Yes. The NIV version talks about striving for full restoration. I thought restoration was a one time thing
@GemOnWebb4 жыл бұрын
@@khetsiwekhumalo7143 It does make sense to refer "being perfect" as "fully restored." As a church, and as a Christian, we are suppose to let ourselves be "repaired" by God, through Jesus, in the Spirit, because we are supposed to be "holy." Of course, as human beings that's absolutely impossible, right? Thus, we "strive." There is the one time thing, yes, we are forgiven of our sins when we repent, got baptized, and received the gift of the Holy Spirit, but we always tend to taint ourselves again. Which makes it a process which, hopefully, by the time we die and on the judgement day, we have completed. :)

@@khetsiwekhumalo7143 That's good. I wasn't sure it would be understandable while I was typing that. :D But if you need someone to talk more about it, just ask. :)
