6 musky over 2 days - that is what I call success. I hope you guys enjoy this video. I had a ton of fun filming and fishing it. It was super cold and super windy but we got it done!
In respect of local anglers I do NOT name any river/stream that I fish. Please respect my "no-name" policy and do NOT post the names of any spots in the comments. Thank you for understanding!
Leave a message or a question below! I love responding and communicating with fellow fisherpeople, adventurers, and wanderers.
Thanks for all of your support, Haight's Wanderings

Beautiful video! Even if you caught nothing, it would have been excellent! Catching fish was icing on the cake and makes it easier to justify the effort. No people, and beautiful scenery...Win, win. Thanks for taking us with you.

Musky hitting five seconds after a 65 dollar lure hitting a rock...Priceless!

@Mike Wasniewski Oh, I know. I was a little miffed about that rock. It probably reacted due to the sound though so maybe that's why I got the strike.

I've always had the best luck muskie fishing in the crappiest weather. Something with overcast and wind just gets the bite going

HOLY CRAP, I just finally noticed that you caught that musky on a spinning reel do you use spinning tackle for musky often?
@HaightsWanderings
@HaightsWanderings Жыл бұрын
@Dave G I prefer spinning tackle. As long as you are throwing smaller gear it works fine. That mini-medusa on 50Lb braid with a solid metal leader is money!

@@HaightsWanderings what pound test are you usually fishing with for muskies with spinning reels? or are you more or less fishing with bass tackle with the hopes of catching a musky?
@HaightsWanderings
@HaightsWanderings Жыл бұрын
@Dave G No, I use only musky gear. 50 LB braid with true musky metal leaders. It's not bass gear.

@@HaightsWanderings so, in other word, you’re breaking all “the rules”. Nice, I haven’t finished musky in about 10 years but I never ever even thought to put musky tackle on a spinning, reel. cool. The rule is you have to learn to enjoy, picking apart “bird nests” in casting gear.
@HaightsWanderings

@Dave G Yeah, I have never gotten into fishing with baitcasters. The spinning rod and reel I am using is definitely heavy enough to deal with musky and musky lures.

@@HaightsWanderings six muskie in two days is still outrageous to me! I've got a spot here in Ohio that occasionally has muskie action like this, it's a bit of a secret. Anyone fishing that spot communicates in code...like nods, maybe holding up a finger or two... If you ask what people are fishing for they say "bass," if you even say the word "muskie" they'll run you outta town.
