Once the ancient capital of Laos, Luang Prabang retains some of the charm of a long gone kingdom that ruled the mountainous region along the Mekong river. Today it is the cultural and spiritual capital of Laos, with a high concentration of Buddhist temples and streets full of saffron clad monks. A century of French influence gives the old town a colonial charm, with colorful window shutters and flower lined streets buzzing with scooters. It was one of my favorite Asian small towns, and here’s how it went…

Yes, the famous Luang Prabang town. It's a UNESCO site. Very romantic town with French colonial architecture with mountains and river in the background. You will find many expats from the USA and Europe living in this adorable town. My math high school teacher retired there in 2018. He built an American style house overlooking the river.

How long the tuk2 wait at the waterfall? Near to catch the tuk2 from old town?

It was actually kind of far. Maybe 45 minutes to an hour
