Been watching your channel since I started with my Blade 450 and you introduced the heli stand to the world. I built one and it helped me learn to hover. First day at the field with my copter I was doing flips and rolls. One of the older guys said that's it I'm leaving. And he did! lol. I remember when you had the house fire. I hope you and your wife are doing well. Im still your fan and run my own RC channel now with 202k subs. You inspired me to make videos. I appreciate your kindness and instructive manners. Jokes here and there too! Always learning new things. - Be well Dave. Glad to see you are still doing your thing. If you are ever in Portland, OR area look me up Ill show you our local flying fields. - Justin Davis. DC.

I was always intrigued by the beauty of the original Hyperfly. Though it was considered to be a more affordable alternative to the big boy helis, money was still too tight even for this. I could not believe that such a simple design would fly so well. Thanks for sharing and for making such a clear video of Hyperfly flying.

I'm really going to miss this series of videos Dave they have sure been a ton of fun to watch you fly all these helicopters again maybe you could do another series of videos on all your airplanes nitro powered and electric to be flown ''One More Time?'' BTW I really enjoy the thumbnail picture it looks like you are praising both Hyperfly's to the R/C Helicopter gods almost in the same exact pose that Arnold did at the end of ''Conan The Barbarian'' with his sword and his father's broken sword raised up to the sky praising his god ''Crom'' also I really wish they would've made a ''Blue Thunder'' Fuse instead of a Apache but that's me I love that 1983 film a lot I'm glad your Byron F-16 made a cameo in that film Dave I remember your video about it.

@@3DMOFO2020 Wow, that is quite the story. I appreciate that. Yes, I was thinking of starting with some of my planes now, but not the F-16. Too Rare to take anymore chances. We made the Manta and Apache bodies for the Hyperfly's, but Blue Thunder came out after we went into production. That would make a nice body all right, but the Apache does look pretty sleek and fly's nice. Love your comparison to Conan. You are quite the guy. I appreciate you. Stay well and happy flying.

@@Raptor50aus Really, I knew that was planes, but thought it was on the left stick. No one flies mode 1 around here, so didn't know that. Guess that was why sales were bigger overseas (with that radio in the kit) than the USA. Thanks again for clarifying.

Hey Dave I have two of the Hyperfly but the batteries are tired Did you install a speed control and lipos in yours? Love the series always makes me smile
@NightFlyyer
@NightFlyyer 2 ай бұрын
Yes. Speed controls (brushed) make this a breeze to fly, and yes, I'm using a 7.4 2600 Lipo, which also makes them crank. Thanks so kindly.

Dave , What brand battery do you run in your Hyper Fly? looking at Horizon hobby web site, I see a 7.4-volt lipo 2000 mah but they are listed as receiver batteries. Where did you get yours?

Your involvement in this hobby from the very first beginnings is just fascinating! It's so good to see that your inventions and ideas were finding oper ears and people that were open minded! And that once produced the models have been a sccess! The helis without tailrotor are fascinating. The sound is so nice and quiet. I love especially the sound of the Apache when she flies by, such a nice humming. So you control the forward flight and left/right with the cyclic over the swashplate tilt and the heli is turning because you "turn" it with the cyclic aileron (bank angles) and the big foil instead of the tailrotor keeps the heli in line in forward flight and couteracts the torque of the main rotor motor? Did I get it right? Thanks for a short answer!!

But... how? How does it counteract the torque of the main rotor?
@NightFlyyer
@NightFlyyer 2 ай бұрын
As long as you are moving forward, the tail becomes a weather vane. It is stronger than the torque. And if you play with the throttle, you can use the torque to your advantage. Also, if you shut the motor off or slow way down to land, there is no torque. Easy to fly. Thanks. Good Question.
